Delivery Updates on Delivery Date slowdown

It ain't gonna be perfect so if that's your expectation...
Then don’t take 8 months to make it perfect……

it is my expectation since this delay is all about QC delivering complete quality. It not, then deliver it in 2-4 months like you stated.

I think “perfect” is too subjective and poorly defined. I expect it to be “perfect” with respect to things they should find during inspections. I would hope not to have panel gap issues, loose windshield wipers, bulges in tire sidewalls, that kind of stuff. Otherwise, what are they doing with these extended inspections? Do I expect the software to be perfect, no, impossible. Perfect means different things to different people and I have done enough homework that I hope to not be surprised too often. In other areas or post delivery issues, things happen, things break. No way to avoid that, just cross my fingers and hope they don’t happen too often or are small enough to be handled by a mobile tech.

They are not delaying because of software. They are delaying because of hardware. Yes, after holding back my car for 8 months, I expect that part to be perfect. Otherwise, why not just deliver it to me?

I mean, startups can’t seek perfection out of the door. Perfection itself is relative. They have their own checklist for standards and your car should meet that.

I can say the response you get post sale is better than what you get pre sale but I do think the pre sales issues come down which DA you get along with the obvious of just poor communication from Lucid in general.

Post sale, i've dealt with the Service Center a couple of times and have been impressed. Once they drove to my house and the other I drove to them (even though they were willing to come to the house). The experience both times has been informative and positive. When emailing the Customer Service email responses come back in a timely manner as well. Most times, it's within 1 or 2 hours but the longest I waited was half a day so that alone compared to what you get on the pre sales side is leaps and bounds ahead. Customer Service is probably sick of hearing from me as I send in bugs \ suggestions but they're always appreciative and pass the info along.

For me, I look at it that we have a very rare opportunity to work with a company to evolve the car (in relation to software) to what us owners actually want and not have a company say "this is what we think you want" and be done with it. The last software update alone tells me that Lucid is really listening to feedback from its owners and will to adapt the software to how we want it. So yes, the software is buggy but stable now so look at it as a pro because they're also open to suggestions on improving it to suit our needs. Tell me, would Audi, VW, Ford, Porsche, Mercedes be open to this and pushing changes out within weeks? In my opinion, no!

The only are thing that would be annoying to incoming buyers is financing. Lucid dragging its feet on getting issues resolved in production has heavily impacted those buyers who are going to finance the purchase. It could also drive order cancellations as the rate hike yesterday isn't going to be the last.

I still believe it's better to pay cash right now as the stock market doesn't look like rebounding any time soon. A lot of you stated before that you can do better with the cash but interest rates are going higher making payments higher and overall cost of car higher.

Everyone has to make his/her own decision based on what is best for them and their insights into their crystal ball. My loan rate for $115K will be going up to just 2.49% once I pass the lock expiration date in a few weeks. At that time the loan will only cost $7,426 over five years. WIth the market down right now, if I can't make many, many multiples of that over five years, I deserve what I get.

I ordered mine Jan 14th and have not heard from my advisor since April 18th. Nothing, no phone call, no email, no replies to mine either. I called to complain twice and still have no answer what is going on. How are people who placed orders after me already receiving their cars?

Probably not many for you. I ordered April 6th LAST YEAR. There are a ton of people who ordered after me who have received their cars.

It appears the factory bottleneck has at least been fixed where they're making cars they can ship again. However, they are probably playing severe catchup. I imagine third shift should be getting trained up soon from the hiring event in February.

It's nice to hear that some people are receiving communication from Lucid. I understand the world has delays now, but to receive no communication from Lucid is completely unacceptable to me. I already sold my car since they do not offer trade-ins.
I get to drive my '56 Vette everyday now.

What color did you order? If it's CS or QG, a 1/14/22 confirmation/order (I'm assuming order = confirmed rather than reserved) hasn't started production yet. If it's another color, then try calling the 800 number for sales and check if your DA is still employed by Lucid and if they are, complain that you aren't getting a response and you want to talk to their supervisor.

It's confusing that people are using ORDERED when they mean confirmed. I've been seeing this more and more.

Yes. I use reserved and confirmed instead of ordered. If someone says ordered, I assume they are indicating reserved, which may not be the case.

Even if @SDHacker confirmed on 1/14, there are few who have received their cars him. HOWEVER, There are many who have received their cars after my November confirmation. At this point they really should prioritize early confirmation dates since they can make all colors (silver excepted). Not sure why they are delivering cars with later confirmation dates while they still have a lot of November ones on the books (and December).

Do you have access to your DA’s calendar? I do. I can always just schedule an appt and he always calls me at that time.

Who are you financing with?

I am seeing other Zenith Reds with Tahoe interiors ordered after me having vins assigned or being delivered. I ordered 19" wheels too due to crappy roads. Seems like Lucid created tbeir own priority list.
I ordered with $1k deposit on Jan 5th and still have no vin.

There is a lot of batching which is why my November confirmation got pushed out to a July delivery with others confirming their cars as late as March receiving them before me. They batch colors, interiors, wheel size, and even delivery location, etc as far as I have been able to ascertain over the past 7 months I hear you. I have been there.
