Owner's Manual (Online)

Damn that looks professional

I wish Lucid would provide paper copies of the owner's manual to those owners who request them. I've requested a paper copy multiple times and I keep being told there are online versions available. I want to use the book to familiarize myself with the car's features. I don't want to have to switch between the online version and the operation I'm trying to perform and the owner's manual. This is my first new vehicle in over 15 years and it is quite a learning curve to move from an older gas guzzler to the Lucid AGT. A lot of the features are not intuitive for me. It took me multiple tries over several weeks to figure out the adaptive cruise control. Although I am thankful for this forum as I've learned a lot from other Lucid Owners, I would really appreciate a paper copy of the Owners Manual. As much as I paid for this vehicle, I don't think I'm asking too much for a paper copy of the owner's manual.

You can pull up the online manual on your phone while you’re in the car, if that helps.

Yep. Save it as a PDF to your Files app, then pin a link to it in the Notes app. (If you 're on an iPhone.) That's what I do for any document I need quick, offline access to.

That’s one way, another is to just literally print the pdf.

Lots of product manufacturers don’t provide manuals anymore. I would not rely on manuals existing anymore. My Teslas never came with them, and my Porsche only came with a mini manual of safety items, nothing (useful at least) on the infotainment system.

You can also ask them at a showroom or service center to show you around the cars features.

All of that said,

Who reads manuals? Spend forty five minutes playing with functions to avoid having to spend two minutes looking them up.

Kinko’s, or rather FedEx/UPS will print, bind, and even protect the pdf version for a physical copy if you want it.

Mine came with a paper manual

With the rate at which features will change via OTA, a paper manual may be out of date and inaccurate at best and unsafe at worst (if the paper manual instructs you to do something that does not do what you wanted, for instance). You also don't want to be looking at a paper manual while driving anymore than you want to be looking at the interactive manual, so I don't see how that would help.

It is a bit too much to ask for, but I don't mean that in a "you are being ridiculous" kind of way. These aren't the "solid state" type of appliances that ICE cars of 15 years ago were, where computer functions were highly limited and fixed and unchanging for the life of the car. This car is basically a smartphone with wheels and its software progresses just as dramatically as a smartphone. You should just browse the interactive version with a nice readable tablet instead.

A lot of the features are not intuitive for me. It took me multiple tries over several weeks to figure out the adaptive cruise control.
Respectfully, if it took you several tries over several weeks to learn just the cruise control, you may wish to to get more help from your SA/DA, and perhaps YouTube videos to help you. A paper manual isn't going to change that.

The feature-set is only going to get more and more full featured and (for you) more complex, as more DreamDrive Pro features start to become available. I would consider rethinking how you're learning about your car.

Does anyone recall if the Highway Assist verbiage in the manual was there from the beginning or added just with the recent update? Still bummed that it turned out to not be functional yet but if it was recently added to the manual, maybe it’s coming very soon!

It was there from there beginning. All features that were mentioned were promised to release in January (via e-mail they sent out).

Correction: Just Highway Assist was not promised in January.

So the inclusion of instructions to activate Highway assist are new? Or were in the manual from the beginning but just known to not be active yet?

Download PDF version and Print relevant portions for your file, don't have to print whole manual as there are many redundant pages
