Stock Momentum

Rivian reported better than expected earnings and seem to be reaching their production target. Here is where Lucid leadership constantly failed….it was a bunch of engineers running the company who had no clue about company finances/supply chain/ software. Glad the whole leadership team got kicked out. Hoping Napoli and his team can right this ship.

Lucid vehicles are very underrated by the public, and many haven’t heard of the company or probably only did because of bankruptcy rumors all stemming from Rawlinson and Winteroff mismanaging the company. Its going to be very tough to change that perception.

This will be Napoli's first full quarter under his new leadership team so I agree, hopefully we hear in the next earnings call how they are going to put Lucid on a sustainable, realistic path to profitability. I am curious to hear about the next capital raise that will be positive for shareholders he alluded to a few months back.

Keep in mind that a lot of stuff has been happening everywhere that may impact what was implied earlier. Maybe not but …

Tesla cult basic flood the social media with what you mentioned above and often twist the truth. News outlet are very biased too.

Uber's quarterly earnings has given LCID a nice boost.

At this juncture of Lucid's challenges, robotaxi is the last thing they need!
Lucid needs to sell more vehicles. The partnership helps with that.

It is a PR thing for Uber, a distraction for Lucid.

Yes, I know Uber also invested in Lucid.

The vast majority of robotaxis will not be Lucid vehicles.

Lucid needs to "right-the-ship" to survive. I am a fan of Robo-Taxi. Been riding Waymo for years. Robo-taxi is an unneeded distraction for Lucid at this juncture.

Waymo didn't really save Jaguar!

As an owner of an I-Pace you're preaching to the choir. In fact I would say that the Waymo partnership accelerated the brands demise. When the I-Pace was released in 2019 it was praised as an alternative to the Model X. Critics loved it and the car was voted "world car of the year" in 2019. An honor subsequently bestowed on the Air (2023) and Gravity (2026).

Unfortunately for Jaguar that was the pinnacle of the I-Pace. The company became lazy, made little investments and updates and turned what was a promising opportunity into a fleet vehicle. I'm not saying that Waymo destroyed the brand. If anything it provided a lifeline to limp along a bit longer. But ultimately a car company will only be successful if it sells cars that buyers want. Everything else is window dressing.

An investment by Uber is a relatively low risk proposition. But once robotaxis take hold the companies that are able to produce them at a low cost with high reliability will win the race. With current margins of -105% I don't think that's going to be Lucid. I could be wrong.

For anyone wondering, this is the full quote from Uber:

We expect to begin fully driverless testing with Nuro and Lucid this quarter, ahead of a commercial launch in the Bay Area in Q1 2027 that will operate fully driverless from day one. Houston and additional cities will follow.

Yes but it's incredibly helpful that even though other companies talk about pre-orders etc, LCID already has 100K orders for Cosmos from PIF, Bolt and Uber.

Wrong, they need robotaxis as well , otherwise will fall far behind. You don’t stop pigeon hole yourself.

Being fully driverless from day one is promising
They have been testing in San Fran and here in Houston for many months with driver monitors. I followed one (with driver) here in Houston yesterday for a couple blocks. The couple I have seen here in Houston have all been very dirty. Maybe testing sensor capabilities even if dirty? Or just lazy testing crews.

I pace failed not because of Waymo, but because of it had poor software and range. Also very expensive for a mid size car….Tesla 3 was much cheaper.
