Lucid Gravity
My Gravity was involved in a small fender bender. It did not look too bad from the outside but requires a few parts. Now getting parts shipped out to northern Virginia was definitely not quick, after multiple weeks of waiting they are finally in. Now comes the next problem, the air talk has to be removed which requires a special tool that the shop does not have and according to them cannot buy….seems a bit strange for a lucid certified shop. Now I have been waiting over two weeks for this magical tool to be borrowed from lucid in Tyson’s and they so don’t know when they can get it. Well that was a bit of a rant to get to the actual questions: anyone know what this magical tool is and anyone else had this problem?

No idea what that tool could be, or why Lucid won't sell one. You absolutely shouldn't have to do this, but if it were me, I'd try calling the service manager at Tyson's directly and ask them what the heck the holdup is. It's pretty clear that Lucid has no methodical process for taking care of customers, and so falling back to direct personal contact is wise.

I thought it was some special microphone from the Air that was used on the Gravity - still shouldn’t require a special tool that a Lucid certified shop doesn’t have and can’t get. 🤣

Other exotics so stuff like that too, Porsche has (or used to) a bunch of weird tools you can’t get outside of the dealer for many years.

I would think this air tank has to do with the air suspension which I’m sure lucid did not custom make but rather bought from an oem which makes the special tool really weird

That seems understandable (but extremely annoying) for a random repair shop. But when a mechanic has received Lucid training and their stamp of approval? It rises to the infuriating.

Well what I find more interesting is that the shop sat on their hands for weeks before they discovered they needed this special tool.
To reiterate:
A lack of planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part. So yes I’d be pi$$ed at that shop, not Lucid, in this case there is no way you can pin those extra weeks on them.

and this shop is one of two certified lucid shops in the area. No idea how they can ever repair any gravity in a reasonable amount of time

A certified Lucid repair shop should have access to everything needed to repair a Lucid. If they don’t, that sounds a little suspicious. I had a valet have a minor fender bender with my Gravity. I just needed the rear bottom plastic bumper replaced. It took 12 weeks to get the parts in. The body shop had the car fixed in 3 hours.
