Buying Air GT 2022 vs 2023

Hello everyone, I'm looking to buy an Air GT within the next few months from now and was wondering if the premium in the 2023 models are worth the ~$5000 premium over the 2022 plus the extra time it takes to get one since I don't see any near me. Thanks for any advice!
 
Welcome fellow seeker! The 2022 GT's all were fully equipped. 2023 model year may or may not have some options. I, myself am looking solely at 2022 used GT's as my next car.
 
I would price warranty into the equation, but I don't think there's a big difference between 22 and 23. I've had a 22 as a loaner and couldn't tell the difference between that and my 26.

I thought the 2023 also had everything standard and then in 2024 they switched to options? I may be mistaken but that's just what I've seen

Thank you, I'm looking for a third party warranty too, do you have any suggestions? Ive struggled finding ones that will cover services directly from lucid

I would focus on the cars “in service” date as that will start the warranty clock. If the car has any issues you’ll want to get them addressed before the initial warranty expires. We’re only starting to see what repair costs look like out of warranty.

Changes really didn’t occur until the 25 model year with the introduction of the heat pump and CCCV2 chip. You might even get lucky and find a car where the prior owner spent $900 and upgraded the chip.

I was able to find a 2022 with in service date in 2024, so the late bloomers are out there. I had pretty good luck asking Lucid support for warranty status on the cars I was interested in.

Yes the heat pump doesn't matter to me since I live in the Bay Area and the CCV2 chip isn't too important considering a $900 upgrade on a ~$50k is quite reasonable, thank you for the advice

Lucid does not accept direct pay third party warranty, that's a Lucid policy not the warranty company.

I have XCare on my BMW
 
Can anyone confirm that the 2023 GT's were also fully equipped like the 2022? I have been limiting my search to 2022 but it would be great to add 2023 to the hunt...

I believe 2023 was the year that Lucid began allowing configuration changes to the GT. I would double check the features on any 2023 you are interested in. Some third party dealers are better than others at being able to give accurate info.

So then you have to go the route of reimbursement through the warranty company?

I have xCare on my Tesla. No real problems there and was considering them for the Lucid, but it's way more than I was thinking it would be.

The only reason I think they still offered everything as standard is because I haven't seen a 2023 without the camera on the b pillar for the dream drive pro, could be the massage seats or something else was not standard though

I don't know about GTs, but Tourings did ship with the hardware but not with the software enabled. I saw one Touring like this and it would have been about 6700 dollars to activate it. I don't know if the 2023 GTs followed the same pattern though.

Correct. You have to pay Lucid then hope the warranty reimburses that amount.

Exactly! I have seen many Tourings and a few Grand Tourings with Dream Drive Pro hardware but the system not active. As far as GT's go, those have been 2024 and newer. That's why I'm interested if the 2023's were fully equipped like the 2022's. I'm not interested is paying an additional $6750 after I buy the car to activate it. $2250 to activate Surreal Sound Pro isn't as bad...

I use Visor to search for cars and I don't see any options for the 2023s like the 2024s & 25s. I guess it'd be worth asking lucid themselves to get a concrete answer

When searching for my car (‘23 AGT) I came across a few ‘23 AGT that had aluminum roof. I think that somewhere in the model year they started peeling off some of the content in order to offer cars at a lower price point. I also high;y recommend trying to find out the in service date to see if and how much warranty is left. Got my car with 13 months warranty left. I am diligently looking for anything that needs to be addressed before warranty runs out in February ‘27. Lucid Service has been very solid in supporting me there. A couple of minor issues addressed. I gladly paid the $950 to get the CCCv2 chip upgrade.
