Hey all

looking to purchase an Air Touring pre-owned but have a budget to stick to. Wondering if anyone here can help anwser the below.

Sent this to Lucid Motors Customer Care last week and haven't heard back.

Hi there,

Though I’d prefer to purchase directly from the Lucid website, I haven’t found anything within my budget and desired features at the moment, so I’m exploring the option of buying a used Lucid Air Touring from a third-party seller.
Before I go that route, I have a few questions.

-First, does the manufacturer warranty transfer to a subsequent owner, and are extended warranties available for purchase?
-Second, what’s the process for registering the vehicle and getting app access under my account, and what documents will you need from me?
-Third, is there any cost associated with that transfer or registration process? Any other guidance for a used purchase like this would be appreciated.

Yes, warranty is transferable.
No extended warranty by Lucid but you can buy from third parties.
Registering can be done with Customer Care once you have the documentations. No cost, I believe.
Hope you find what you want and just do the same as you would with any other used car purchase. Should come with 2 fobs and 1 key card.

I did exactly that earlier this year on my 2026 Air Touring. Below is what you will need in order for Customer Care to effect the ownership transfer.....
  • Bill of Sale
  • Registration; Permanent or Temporary
  • Title (if possible)
  • Picture of the front of your Drivers' License or State ID or Passport
I have owned Porsche, Mercedes, Lexus, BMW (still do) and the Air has given me so much more enjoyment than any of these other great vehicles. I feel for all the owners that have experienced significant problems with their cars, and hope I don't jinx things but my car has performed flawlessly in the five months I've owned it.

thank you for the information! Extremely helpful!
I'm concerned with Lucid customer service...they dont pickup phones!

Currently have a ZDX Type S leased which matures in December. I drive more than i thought i would so i need to purchase instead of lease. Lucid AT prices are in my favor :)

Have you tried email, "Customer Care" <[email protected]>. They were pretty responsive on email when I was doing my ownership transfer.

This is correct. Once you’ve gathered the information mentioned in the prior email you’ll simply email it to the [email protected] address. I went through the same process a year ago. Takes about 3-4 days once they receive it. These are the instructions they would have provided on the phone.

yes thats the email i sent it to.

in your opinion any "Cons" to buying from a 3rd party if I dont find one on lucid's site? i really want the convenience package. its what i have now on my zdx type s and can't move on with out lol

Not that I've experienced. My transaction was an interesting one. I was about to pull the trigger on a new 2026 Air Touring then stumbled upon one on CarGurus. In Newport Beach, CA (not ideal since I'm in Austin, TX) with 155 miles on odo. Seemed bizarre but story is it was bought by an 84 year old gentleman who, after 30 days of ownership, called a friend that owns an independent shop in Newport Beach and told him he had to get him out of it before he killed himself! I shipped it enclosed from CA to TX, arrived in four days and looked like it had just rolled off the factory floor....still had all the plastic on floor mats and screens! Incredibly it was pretty much the exact spec I was looking to buy....color, tahoe interior, stealth, DD Pro. Easily the best car buy I've ever made!

Similar here. I had emailed everything, but followed up 2 days later; they confirmed they had everything needed and boom, transfered into my name/account.

It was quite easy.

thats a great experience! similar to how i found my 1988 944 turbo. Older gent bought it wanting to revisit the time he wanted one but family life didnt let him. He said every time he got in the car, he couldnt get out LOL
