Hi everybody.
I am close to my lease end. I got my Air GT ‘23 with 20” Pirellis which didn’t last very long. My Michelins have done a better job. I don’t think their current tread will pass the test so I need to put new tires on.

The Lucid website states:
“All four tires must match your original Lucid specifications”. Looking on Pirelli’s site, I can’t find rear tires (265) that would match the wheels
However, below that statement is a picture of Michelin 20” tires. See picture.

Does anyone know if I need to go hunting for Pirelli Zero’s or would Michelin tires suffice? I don’t want to turn the car in and have Lucid put new ones on unless someone has done that and has experience with what they charged.

What will they charge you if you just return it as is and let them replace the tires? If it isn’t a huge savings to replace them yourself ahead of the return, just let them do it and save yourself the hassle.

I have called twice but have been on hold for longer than my patience allowed. I will definitely call again tomorrow.

All the newer Airs come on Michelin's for the 20in wheels as OEM, so you should be fine with those.

Thank you! Does it matter which tire? I was planning on getting the Pilot Sport All Season 4’s.
 
When I turned in my lease I think they really only inspected that the tread wear was acceptable for the age/miles and that tires were matching brand/model.

Make sure the speed and load ratings match or are better.

Just saw this thread and looked at Tire Rack. Are these not the tires you're looking for? Edit: These technically do match the original specifications, so I am near 100% certain you'll be good going with this.

I did see those but the originals were Pirellis. I finally got a call back from Lucid yesterday and they said I could use either Pirellis or Michelins.
 
I have not seen the 20" OEM wheels with Pirelli tires as OEM... Every one I have seen in California had Michelin Pilot EVs... Maybe they used Pirelli for all season tires in other areas?
 
Maybe but I’d suspect that they don’t tailor their tire choice by state, would they? I got my car in McLean, VA. When I spoke to Lucid, they told me I could get any EV approved Michelin. I’m getting the Pilot All Season 4.
 
I think I read in the return guidelines that the tires can’t be mismatched. Not that they can’t be a different brand.

You are right. What made me doubt was this statement:
“All four tires must match your original Lucid specifications”.
Given the fact that the originals were the Pirellis, I thought that I’d have to return with those then too.
 
It is interesting indeed that you had 20" Pirellis as OEMs. I have the 20s too with the Michelin Pilot Sport EVs, and have only ever seen 20" wheel-equipped Airs with Michelin Pilot Sport EV tires (OEM). I've seen folks on this forum replace the OEM tires with other Michelin brands, such as Pilot Sport All Seasons, but never with non-Michelin tires.

Frankly I never even considered the Pirellis until now when I read the Lucid statement. A while back there was a thread about Pirellis and some concerns were raised about bubbles on them. This was at the time I needed new tires and switched to Michelin.
They’re on sale right now so I’m happy.
