2022 Lucid Air GT
I have a new speed dependent drone on my air GT which started after a recent pothole tire replacement. I would love any advice to give to service as I go in this weekend for a few issues. Here’s the facts;

  • Audible beginning around 50MPH, gets somewhat louder with speed
  • Pitch depends on speed
  • About the same volume as the front motor noise
  • Sounds like a steady hum or very very rapid clicking
  • Can’t hear it with windows down. Either the wind drowns it out or it’s not outside the car?
  • No change at all over different pavements
  • no change with regen on or off
  • Speed dependent
Things I’ve ruled out / maybe ruled out
  • Tires / wheels (changed for winters, no difference)
  • Windshield cowling - does not change removed or in place
  • Wipers - no difference on or off
  • Maybe not bearings? No change while turning
  • Wheel well trim clips? Pushed to make sure tight above each wheel but not sure if damaged
  • Placed foam at various places in the frunk trim to quiet it to no avail
  • Duct tape over the airflow coming to tires no change
  • Does not change with drive modes

Has anyone run into this? Any advice for what to say or where to point service? It’s slowly driving me mad. If it had been there the whole time I might not have noticed it but since that pothole it is very noticeable.

You sure you didn’t pickup a rock back behind the brakes?
My Audi used to do that if a very particular sized rock got between the rotor and the dust shield (if lucid has such a thing)

Have you tested each window down independently? Could be a door/window air seal issue.
 
Same exact tire as the others when you had it replaced? Is it at significantly different tread depths?
 
Aw I thought you meant you bought some cool drone camera that could track you at speed...

I'm thinking loose trim maybe? There's a lot of plastic bits down there, could have lost a clip that only becomes apparent at speed.
