Lucid Air Grand Touring
I want to share a terrible experience I am having so far at the McLean VA service center. I brought the car in Thursday and was told maybe, maybe they would not get to it until Friday. Weekend at the latest. Now I see on the app the car is parked and not shown as in service. All they will tell me is that it is in the queue. I asked where in the queue and how long each car takes on average. No answer.

In order to get this appointment I had to call multiple times but they never picked up. I finally just called the sales line and of course they picked up right away. I had to basically make the appointment for end of August, and I called back in May.

I am done with Lucid. The software sucks, the car won't reliably open, the panels reboot at random, and the service is awful.

This has already cost Lucid sales. My wife was really interested in buying the Gravity and after she saw what I went through she ran right away.

I am seriously considering just buy out my lease and going to Mercedes.

I have never seen such shoddy organization in my life.

Not a shoddy organization but they need improvement in customer communication and service. They will place your car in queue to get it fixed. This is due to lack of service availability. Try not to over dramatize things. It’s a new car company trying to figure things out. Hopefully things are on the mend to improve service availability.

So you came here, just to say all this in your First post? I’m rightfully skeptical.

Want me to post the chat thread I had with Hannah from the Tysons Lucid?

I've been frustrated with Lucid for awhile, and this has really proven to me: go elsewhere.

I hope people reading this thread and are considering a Lucid understand what they are getting themselves into.

Saying it's a new car company to make excuses is one thing, but having put $45K down for a $125K car, I have a right to expect better.

It's shoddy organization. To have one person tell me "it will be done this weekend, Monday at the latest" and another tell me "we don't know when it's going to be done, thanks for your patience" is shoddy organization.

Having to call multiple times and not get a call back until you call the sales line is shoddy organization.

Launching vehicles that are not ready to be launched (not me saying this, it's Silvio himself who said that) is shoddy organization.

I understand that there are a lot of apologists for Lucid on this forum, but this post is not for the fanboyz who are trying to shine a turd, it's a warning for the people who are considering one of these cars.

Caveat emptor: know what you are getting yourself into.

Did they give you a loaner or rental? As for the time till they get thru their service queue, this is the norm for most dealers. My wife's EV9 is currently in for service and they haven't looked at it yet and may not for days and they don't do loaners/rentals until the car has been diagnosed, so we are paying out of pocket for a Turo bc we both need our cars this week. I've on occasion had this with Porsche too, but they were good about loaners. Not defending Lucid or the poor experiences you have had, just adding perspective. Also Lucid acknowledges their customer service is in serious need of improvement and is making moves to do so, but they can't fix it overnight.

I haven't run into any major issues, and the team has been extremely responsive. Every time I've left a voicemail, someone returned my call the same day to assist me with adding services. The delivery rep who initially helped me has also been great, quickly handling service updates over email.

Overall, my experience at the McLean location has been pretty good.

Just love how whenever there is a first post from someone complaining about something, certain people try to accuse “Fake post” or “Troll”. If you notice the OP joined the forum over a year ago and has probably just been a lurker, reading posts to learn about Lucid until now when he had his first “bad experience” that got him off the fence and decided to post his frustration. We all know that Lucid has a severe service center problem. His experience sounds very on par with what I have had here in Houston and numerous others have had at other SCs around the country.

Not saying this is a bogus post, but consider.
Some of us also know that troll farms create accounts and sit on them until needed. Some even post innocuous content just to get the count up.
So yes sometimes a troll really lives under the bridge, sometimes not.

Same. Sad if that was OP's experience, but mine was flawless.

Considering that the complaint is entirely consistent with what many others have reported, I see no reason to think the OP is a troll. Are they more upset than some here with Lucid's service problems? Sure. But their reaction also isn't entirely unreasonable. Many people assume great service is part of what you get when buying a luxury car, and Lucid's CEO has readily acknowledged that they're not living up to their customer's expectations in this regard.

we shouldn't dox employees here, every Lucid service employee I've dealt with (a lot of them!!) have been helpful and friendly and I think they have a right to not be brought up on a forum here by name when we are upset about something.

I believe you of course, the idea that you created an account over a year ago so that you could make a fake post to sabotage their stock price after its already in the gutter 12 months later is hilarious. I have the same problem you do, my car has been in service over 4 times for that issue, and I'm going through lemon law/courts with it now. Some of them just don't have a solution. Also, service would fix it if they could! I think Rocklin service hates my car more than I do!

And fwiw, I have only ever seen my car app show "In Service" one time when it actually was, so that doesn't mean it wasn't.

It’s not necessarily about it being a list others have had but it’s all about amplification.
Again the op is likely a real person with real issues. I’m only mentioning that you sometimes see this type of reaction simply because there are many out there willing to post their imagination if it gets them clicks or $
I’m simply pointing out why you see that type of response

Hi, @nemecizer. I am sorry to hear about your frustration. I just sent you a DM.

Agreed. And the standard is measured against every other car brand and particularly luxury brands.

Last week I had an issue with one of my other vehicles. I called on Friday to make an appointment for today. I had no problem in doing so and was provided a loaner. By the end of the day I'll have a walkaround video confirming the cars current overall condition. I'll also get a call from my service advisor with a diagnosis and the estimated repair time. No queue, no unanswered calls, no unexplained delays while in service. That's not meant as a criticism of Lucid but merely an illustration of where they're at vs. their competition.

I picked up my 2027 Gravity two weeks ago. Only issue I have is occasionally needing to push the custom button on the steering wheel several times to get the garage door to open. With that said, I have not yet had to deal with the service centers. Again, only two weeks in but I am very happy with my decision.

...explain how that would work?
Hmmm well if you aren’t familiar with how people can make money off this then I’m not going to explain in a public forum. Particularly a forum not of cyber security, sorry.

Just because you had a bad experience doesn’t mean everyone else does. Sell the car if you arrest upset. No need to come here and disparage the company. Your language is absolutely disgusting. Go get a life!

One bad service appointment and you need go on a foul languages rant!
Nor does a good experience mean that everyone else would have one as well. Experiences will vary as will the reactions to those experiences. Neither are right or wrong. And sharing an experience, good or bad, shouldn't trigger a hostile response and character assassinations. Because I've got to tell you that only one individual is coming across as unhinged in this exchange. And it's not the person who had a bad service experience.

We should be more concerned that these problems persist rather than attacking the people who are experiencing them. And obviously Lucid is appropriately concerned as they monitor these threads and have reached out to the individual in question.

Yeah, but to disparage the company because of one bad service experience is pretty lousy and not necessary. Another “ hey, look at me” post .
