Spotify is constantly skipping songs

Same thing here, seems to have started after 3.6.4 (but only started in the last few days, was working fine for a bit on 3.6.4)

Tried reboot, changing the bit rate in the car Spotify settings, didn't help.

(in case it's relevant, I'm logged into Spotify on both my iPhone and the car)

From some Reddit post saying error is on Spotify’s side.

I think we've pretty well established this is real, but it was definitely happening for me as well. Strangely, most of my playlist songs would work (cached locally?) but when it ran off the end of the list I got little glitchy bits of several dozen songs.

They may be onto something, Spotify just did the same thing to me while using it via CarPlay yesterday. It worked fine once I turned CP on/off though. The app in the native UI kept glitching.

Mine is doing it too. Just from the car's native Spotify app tho. Works fine through Android Auto.
I just tried Spotify through AA.
Yep. Works fine.

Hi, everyone. Thank you for sharing your experiences. Our software team is investigating this.
Any update on this? This will be something qualifies "as team needs to work in the weekend and release a patch asap".

I'm not sure "can't listen to a particular streaming service" is a safety critical issue, but it is an annoying one.

I agree it's not a safety issue, but from my point of view it's a very basic one and shouldn't have been an issue at the first place. Customers will be more forgiving if they are working through the harder problems, but when a basic music playing doesn't work, you don't trust them to fix the bigger problems. It tells me that their software releases doesn't have a good quality control not to let those issues slip through, and makes me nervous.

I have the same issue as well but I ignored it since I am using Spotify in my CarPlay

It seems to me this one is from Spotify side

I am having the same problem with Spotify in my 2023 LAT. Works fine on my iPhone and Roku apps.

Softwarewise I’m not sure if this is Lucid’s problem or Spotify’s problem, but I will tell you this: as a lover of music and a respecter of the musical artists who make the music, one could do better by using another streaming service than Spotify. Spotify pays the among the lowest royalties of any streaming service.
  • Tidal: $0.012 to $0.015
  • Qobuz: $0.015 to $0.019
  • Apple Music: $0.006 to $0.010
  • Deezer: $0.005 to $0.007
  • Amazon Music: $0.004 to $0.008
  • Spotify: $0.003 to $0.005
I use Tidal and Apple. In addition to paying better royalties, both have superior audio quality.

Add me to the song skipping list too...highly buggy..

@jb82 Is the problem on Lucid's side of things? There seem to be reports that the problem is a change that Spotify made which means Lucid really wouldn't be at fault here.
I wonder if other manufacturers are seeing the same issue. Spotify is broadly supported by every car now.

Hi, everyone. I wanted to share an update. We are aware of an issue affecting Spotify functionality for some customers that appears to be related to a recent application update. We have raised the issue with Spotify and are awaiting additional information. We appreciate everyone's patience and understanding.

This same Spotify bug is happening on my Air Touring right now also.
