GPS stuck 30 miles away

Will it not reset with xmicbrake? Given it was last week I'm assuming it went through a sleep cycle? You can use the method above to have AA use phone for navigation but it won't fix native unfortunately.

Have you held xmicbrake beyond the guest chime to the second chime? (I didn't actually know if this does anything but it has seemed to help in a few situations)

If you are unable to reboot the UI with X + Mic buttons while pressing the brake pedal you probably have a defective steering wheel which Service needs to replace for you
 
X+Mic reboots the main computer only. GPS position is held by another box, the TCU. There's no way to reboot that, AFAIK.
 
This happened to me over the weekend. I was returning from a trip about 30 miles away and the car was acting weird. Wouldn't activate Dive Assist and the speed indicator on the cockpit was stuck at 5 MPH. Since I was using Waze on Carplay, I didn't realize the issue was related to the stuck GPS until I got home.

I left the car sit overnight. I've done multiple resets including the longer double chime. Still completely stuck at my last location 30 miles away in the car's nav system and on the mobile app. Finally got through to Customer Care this morning. They verified they're seeing the same thing remotely. Described it as weird and opened ticket for further investigation.

We'll see what happens from here.

Sorry it took a while to provide an update. The problem cleared itself when I started driving. But it appeared to come back briefly. The telltale sign: Speed Limit on the cockpit goes to 5 MPH. Then it resets to normal. Never got a call back on the open issue. But something weird is happening.

Glad you got the call through. I don't even bother with customer service anymore, and the local service center doesn't pick up when I have the problem so I'm glad you got someone to actually see it on their end.

That is so bizarre.
 
Looks like there's 5 or 6 people with this issue on this chain. I wonder what the threshold is to fix? Like how many ordinary customers equals 1 Kyle?
 
My speculation re GPS and iphone CarPlay. CarPlay active stops GPS data to Gravity native navigation ( (from driving long distance in Teslas since 2015 we usually have three independent gps dependent apps on vehicle, iphone and iPad.

The iphone once interrupted the entire screen display for any communication. ( I was beta tester and pointed out sometimes app has priority over communication and now you choose where notifications are on screen)

CarPlay on a Mercedes still gives communication priority. And I don’t always want that. Do not know lucid. But

In fact lucid voice nav overrides any other media.

I believe in offering user opportunity to choose.

Different situations different priorities.

Back to the GPS. For local driving I prefer the big pilot panel screen map.

My guess is the whole gps issue relates to CarPlay interface. And once you connect, even if you disconnect there is some lingering recognition that is screwing with the native car app. ( really weird when map image flipped and position icon still moved ( not just frozen) but was in wrong location.

Also with AA not just carplay, so it's either the car or the commonality of the carplay/AA interface
 
Well I suddenly have this too for the first time. The biggest problem is that it disabled Dream Drive because it thinks I’m in a 25mph school zone. (and horrible timing as I leave on a 2500+ mile road trip on Wednesday)

As to CarPlay/AA being involved, I know this bug existed for people before either of those were even added so I very much doubt it’s related.

My GPS also froze up this week. I drove 100 miles and it never budged from my starting position. After a long while Waze on Car Play switched to using my phone's location. But the entire trip I could not use Dream Drive. I called customer service and got a call back within the hour. We tried to reboot two more times and then I walked away from the car for 15 minutes. I'm not sure if customer service did something on their end, but once the car woke up and I drove it for a few minutes the GPS appeared to work again. For the last few months the GPS has taken a minute or so from the time the car starts to start registering a location. I'm not sure if these two issues are related.

On the plus side, my experience with customer service was great. Called back in a reasonable amount of time. When the second reboot didn't do anything we switched to a text chat. All the time, the customer service rep was very responsive.

I think it existed on the air and could be fixed with tcu unplug (I never experienced it in my previous air).
I'm experiencing on gravity- I assume that's what others are experiencing too? Or has it been seen with gravity prior to carplay\AA?
My previous thread didn't get much direction and service had been clueless about the issue the three times I've asked in service.

Yes, there were definitely people who reported having the GPS stuck somewhere before CarPlay/AA were added. It seemed like it was happening late last year and then went away for a while and might be back.
 
The 2026 Gravity i test drove over the weekend did it too, after lock the car and unlocking it show last location.
 
Same happening to me today except car is saying it’s at the Lucid location in CA (instead of NJ). CarPlay works for a bit then stops then works but car navigation is stuck in CA. I’ll try some resets when I park.
 
I also just the past few days had a few GPS issues. Search for the pharmacy near me and it didn't show that one but was suggesting ones 100 miles away. Seems to have cleared up now but odd.
 
My surprise when it told me I was 2000 miles away. I just did a soft and then a hard reset. Now it says I’m at my previous destination 30 miles away. I just parked so I’ll let it rest for a few hours. Hopefully that fixes it.
