For your RFID toll pass such as GoodToGo or EZ pass, there’s a special location on your windshield marked by a small grid to the right of your rear view mirror and the windshield camera bump. This allows the signal to pass through, anywhere else it will be blocked.

I couldn’t find this mentioned anywhere in the owners manual and only saw some mentions of this in the Gravity forum and buried in Air post comments. Hope this helps someone else having issues with their toll pass.

This is on a 2025 Air Touring.

Yeah the reason this topic is confusing and difficult to research (at least for the Air) is because Lucid changed the tint type back and forth during the Air's production.

I believe the model year history is:

2022 | Metallized Tint | RFID Location = Lower Passenger Side of Windshield
2023 & 2024 | Non-Metallized Tint | RFID Location = Anywhere
2025 & 2026 | Metallized Tint | RFID Location = Passenger Side of Rearview Mirror

It doesn't help that the handful of threads discussing this (Reddit, FB "Lucid Owners Club", etc.) are packed with comments like "Mine has that" or "I got my car in 2025 and it doesn't have that", without explicitly stating the damn Model Year.

That explains why I had such a hard time finding the correct info. I wish Lucid would just put a little table in the manual explaining these possible locations by model year like you just did. This grid is pretty hard to see if you’re not looking for it on the 2025/2026 Airs.

I was having the darndest time finding this small rectangle to the right of the windshield! However what I did find is when it gets a little darker it that area is clear as day as day when you shine a flashlight on it

Thanks, this is helpful, I had a version originally where I located it behind the sunvisor and was fine up until I had to do a windshield replacement

I don’t see that is my 2025 Pure. I have my sunpass transponder directly under the mirror housing and I haven’t had any issues.

I've never had problems with RFID devices on my '22 AGT. Car wash pass sits behind the driver's sun visor, and toll pass below and left of the rear-view mirror.

Good tip! Similar issue with our Range Rover when we first picked it up. Didn’t know there was a designated area.

I stuck it to the back of the center screen with some velcro. Had zero problems and it obstructs absolutely none of my view!

Just got a 2025 Air after several years with my now totaled 2023, that had the clear windshield. When I add my EZ pass transponder where indicated above can I also add my RFID gate strip adjacent to it or will the two conflict and block the respective readers?

They shouldn’t conflict, the main thing would be making sure that both of the passes fit inside that grid-looking area.

They fit within the grid and there is no conflict. I use a silicone cover, EZ skin bundle thatnis on amazon The transponder is out of th line of driver's sight in th grid area.
