I just want to make sure my understanding of Lucid's braking strategy is correct:

While hitting the brake pedal does not engage regenerative braking, it doesn't disengage it either. In other words, if you have high regen on and you hit the brakes, you're now combining max regen with whatever additional brake pressure you apply.

I tested this one out myself and it definitely feels like you come to a stop a lot quicker with high regen on + light brake pressure vs. no regen + light brake pressure.

In my mind, this would suggest blended braking is kind of pointless unless you drive without regen.

Well yes
You’ve added regeneration to hydraulic braking but in all cases you won’t stop any quicker past a certain point as ABS will limit stopping power

Right, but it should help with braking performance because less heat should be generated by the brakes each time you use them.

Yes, in a performance setting I'd agree with you. Repeated heavy cycles may result in a bit less fade since the regen is helping. In the context of an emergency stop situation though, I think you'd still face an overall limit in the traction of the tires.
