2026 Lucid Gravity
With the latest Gravity update, people I called seemed to hear me better for maybe the first week post update. But it didn’t last. Now I hold the phone to make every call! This was supposed to be fixed with the update. Not! Am I alone with this continuing problem? Thanks!

I use an Andriod phone, and mine has been working fine.

Yes mine is still not acceptable and has not been fixed by 3.5.1. Whatever Ai they’re using is failing. I even had my microphone reinstalled recently. They said it had been installed facing the wrong direction. But even that didn’t help the quality.

Not sure how they can fix this at this point. It’s not software.

For me is seems to be very much related to the cell signal which is sooo much worse inside my gravity vs every other car I have ever had. No idea if this is because every German car I have had in the last 20 years have the shark fin

My microphones were changed out and still poor. Better than before but still no where compared to even a basic Toyota in terms of speech quality on Bluetooth. Think it’s junk hardware that they put down to software

You are not alone. When I speak to people hands free and ask them how well they are hearing me they say that it does not sound very good.

I have the same issue. It's an iPhone issue not Android I was told by my service rep. I either have to scream when on the phone or put the phone on speaker and hold the phone when I'm driving. So Safe!!!

2026 Gravity DE #284 - as a software engineer and a proponent of Lucid and Gravity, the silence on this basic speakerphone quality feature being so unbelievably awful is my only true complaint. I can understand all of the other software bugs and I’m seeing them addressed at what some feel in unacceptably slow but I understand software development and rollout timelines. I would love hear some answers to what the actual problem is. Having the air on or driving above 15 miles an hour (road noise) and accessing Siri or lucid assistant and saying, “call sally on mobile” and getting a response of, “I’m nit sure if you said call sales, or calendar frank” which is it. The only way mine will work when driving or having the fan for heat or air on is the scream at it. “CALL SALLY ON MOBILE” and I get, “Calling sally on mobile” like 80 percent of the time. But it makes no difference anyway because even if Sally answers she said I sound 100 miles away. This one is basic and I don’t mind waiting for a fix but being transparent and letting people know if this is in someone’s radar would be way better than silence. The previous poster was right. This is something that works perfect on a 25k Toyota Corolla, and should be taken care of before bigger projects on a 150k luxury vehicle.

With that said, I know the software group is working their asses off to get new updates out. But let us know this is on your roadmap. LOTS of people use the gravity as their work car and having a speakerphone is vital. With the strict cell phone laws in California if you have a phone in your hand even if it’s not held up to your ear you are in violation of the cell phone law and it’s a minimum $250 fine.

I use earbuds to make calls that sound ok, but that just should not be the case.

What version of the Gravity software is you Dream Edition on? There were some huge improvements made in the last couple of software versions

I use Siri constantly and have never had to scream over the AC (or road noise, I assume you didn't get the comfort package with the added sound dampening?). That sounds more like there's something wrong with your microphone in the car. My call quality improved greatly after 3.5.0 was released and I don't get people complaining anymore. Might be worth getting service to look at it.

I’m on 3.6.3. I have a Dream edition which has every possible feature including the sound dampening. I have the upgrade that talked about the AI enhancement, no difference. Service tells me it’s a known thing with iPhone 17. I have an iPhone 17 Pro Max and have no issues in my other cars at all. So I would highly doubt that it’s a phone issue, but likely something in the lucid. I sound like I’m bitching, but this one frustrates me.

Thanks for the reply and any advice anyone has.

I also have an iPhone 17 Pro Max and the last updates made huge improvements. I'd make them look at it again honestly if you have service for anything else.

I have a service appt. for something else thats small. I must say my service team at Rocklin, California is amazing! What should I ask them to check? Microphones? see if they are installed wrong?

Is the call quality always bad or intermittent? If it’s always bad, perhaps make a call to the service tech while you’re there. Another thing you could try is to use a friend‘s phone that is not an iPhone 17 and see if that makes a difference.

I also have DE but I am still on an iPhone 15. The 3.6.0 update made a big difference in quality. People tell me I sound crystal clear and better then when I use my earbuds. Also, the in car navigation voice prompts are filtered out.

I would definitely say microphones to start. Just politely point out that there have been updates to fix the call quality and that there are other iPhone 17 users who say it's working now.

It's far too easy for techs to stick with an answer that might not be true anymore as time progresses and miss something actually wrong. Spent many years in IT and have seen the phenomenon over and over.
