I'm guessing that whatever "sportier version" of Gravity is getting revealed was in the works long before Silvio was hired. I don't mind too much, as I think Lucid is at its best when it's pushing out new benchmark products. If they didn't have several best in class offerings I'm not sure they'd have been supported for so long.

It’s pretty clear Lucid is facing real challenges, but they are hardly alone—many automakers are struggling in the current market. Lucid has strongly denied the bankruptcy reports, issued an SEC statement disputing them, and reportedly retained counsel to explore action over the false reporting. The Saudi prince’s purchase of more than 19 million shares also does not exactly suggest that bankruptcy is imminent.

As for AlixPartners, restructuring and operational improvement are a large part of what they do; their involvement does not automatically mean a bankruptcy filing is coming.

That said, I love my Lucid. It has had a few software glitches, but it drives like a dream, and I will probably get another one. You have until July 2027, so there is no reason to go into “survival mode” now. A great deal can change between now and then, including what Lucid announces for the 2027 models.

For now, enjoy your car and see how things develop.
Agreed, I just bought new tires and had the yearly done so good for the next year. As far as Lucid's present predicament at least they did not stick their head in the sand and hope for the best. I think it shows vision to get help, I am optimistic until I see otherwise.

For those who came from Tesla and regularly used basic Autopilot (not FSD) should I wait to see if DD2 comes in 2027? Or are you happy with Highway Assist/DreamDrive Pro on the current Air? I use autopilot the most, and it is my one have to have. I’m about to order and lease a 2026 Air, but I’m wondering whether I should wait to see if the 2027 gets DreamDrive 2. Would you? I’d be salty if i order now and then it comes out while I wait for the car.

We actually haven't heard when Air 2027 models might become available or what features might change. There's been no indication from Lucid, so far, that modifying Air for Dream Drive 2 is in the cards. There are a couple of good YouTube videos on Lucid Air with Dream Drive Pro available. You might want to take a look at those for an indication of what is possible. I'd also suggest getting some DDPro time in on your test drive, so you can see it in person.

Would that I could, living in Austin, TX I can’t get to a close place for a test drive, it’s three hours to Houston or Dallas. I was in Boston recently and was able to get in one finally. Fell in love then, been obsessively tracking inventory since. I designed the car I want on the website at this point but it seems like they might be close to announcing the 2027 cars, I can wait a month and see? I’d hate to make the purchase only to see DDP2 show up. If it didn’t no harm no foul.

Thanks for the tip on the videos I’ll take a peek!

They said in March that DDPro2 would be coming to the Air, but that was prior management and they didn't provide a target date.

Like some of my esteemed colleague here, I have a few laps around the sun. I do not think the SUV preference will last forever. Smaller/more efficient is better options will rise again and as we are dragged kicking and screaming it seems toward more sustainable transportation models, Air/future Air junior will certainly have a market.

I'd say it depends on how you use AP. When we got our Model Y in 2023 it had AP with the ability to subscribe to FSD. At first we did not subscribe. More on that in a bit. At the time AP was basically like GM's SuperCruise and Ford's BlueCruise except with those two you could take your hands off the steering wheel. And with SuperCruise it would make lane change decisions on its own if you let it. With AP you had to constantly touch or add torque to the steering wheel to make certain you were paying attention. So in my opinion / experience SuperCruise was the better system and BlueCruise was a notch above AP

Fast forward a couple years and FSD is good enough that you can keep your hands off the wheel and it will drive you point-to-point. My wife decided to subscribe and has never looked back. Since I don't really drive the Model Y much I'm not certain if AP allows hands off driving yet or if you still have to trick the system.

DDP is more on par with SuperCruise / BlueCruise. You can take your hands off the wheel and let the car do its thing. One major difference... DDP does not make lane changes unless you prompt them using the turn signal. SuperCruise does. Not sure about BlueCruise...haven't driven that lately.

When you're driving in an area that doesn't allow DDP to offer you hands-free it offers Drive Assist. This is, in my opinion equivalent to AP. It will occasionally nag you to confirm that your hands are on the steering wheel. Hard to say if it nags more or less than AP, so probably about the same.

Summary: FSD > SuperCruise > DDP > DriveAssist = AutoPilot

I don't think they are taking orders yet for 2027 model.

They are not. I am just in buyers remorse avoidance mode, trying patiently to wait a month to see if a new upgrade drops. The fact that no one from Lucid is calling me back really, means I have nothing to look at anyway. And inventory for what i want does not exist, and does not look like it is coming either, so they seem to be clearing out the inventory they have I hope in anticipation of new Air upgrades for 2027. Hopefully not discontinuing.

I'm in a similar situation.

On Saturday, I have an appointment with the Studio nearest me. The lease incentives for the Air are enough to get me to sign, but I'm not willing to settle for a Grand Touring configuration that does not match what I want.

I have a feeling you might be waiting, but not sure. I ended up putting a deposit down for a red with glass canopy and platinum. I don't love the platinum but i can get it wrapped to stealth. I won't have the stealth wheels but that wasn't much of a concern. The rest had everything i wanted fir a touring. If they had had a GT i would have gone with it but they only have black, and i can't deal with black in texas. Looks great, but the heat...

Car coming from California, might take a few weeks...But i am excited!

I agree. I don't seen anything in inventory that's a full match: AGT, red, stealth, glass canopy, 19” aero range, Mojave extended leather, DDP and SSP. I've also looked at 2025 year model resales, and I'm also not seeing great matches.

I hope yours arrives on time and in perfect condition.

I am looking for differnt set of features and its a challenge without an option to order . Curious if they are charging you to ship car--or will they eat that cost during the promo?

I was looking for LITERALLY the exact same layout as you. I ended up putting in an order, told it would be 12 weeks, and at some point swapped to a Fathom Blue touring with PureLuxe seats in order to get the options I wanted.

To do so I had to refresh inventory daily, and see what new popped up. The sales team promised they'd look for me and let me know when something was close, but I caught it before they did, and moved my deposit over without any issue.

The sticking points at the time seemed to be finding something with both DDP and SSP, and getting any of those with the 20-way massage seats. I ended up with them, delighted that I did, and don't find myself missing the extra range.

I'm a little surprised there aren't more "fully loaded" models, it feels like at the $100-120k levels most people aren't trying to save $ on the radio, but I guess not.

My Air Touring lease ends in November. For MY 2027 I want the Gravity top screen and the Gravity full yosemite or tahoe interors as an option. A dark grey GT with the Gravity top screen and full yosemite gravity interior would be the perfect car IMO. If they don't have any major improvements I may just buy out the lease and wait though. My stealth Touring has everything except DDPro. I thought Dream Drive Premium would have basic lane centering when I bought it and it is a bummer that my daughters Hyundai has highway lane centering and mine does not. Would be cool if they made Dream Drive Premium the Autopilot/lane centering version it already has all the cameras and made Dream Drive Pro the DDPro 2 version. The Air is amazing and just needs a few seemingly easy tweaks to make it as good as the Gravity. I think the Air charge converter has to be replaced to support the same charging speeds as the Gravity which is a big expense and I have a Lectron NACS adaptor anyways. Just replacing the top screen with the Gravity screen would be enough for me to buy a new Air.

DDP and SSP are also key to me, but I want aluminum roof and prefer platinum trim...Hard to find anthing with those options in my color choices. Surprised how few cars are available with SSP.

So, surprised to hear that they took a new order for a 2027?? I assume they stopped building 2026 Air models.

The sales rep I spoke with today said they thought the ability to place custom orders for 2027 should open "soon." Days, weeks... They weren't certain.

You can order a 2027 today, now. I got a call from my the person i was working with because they said if that happened before ,y car could be delivered they would let me order it. Went there, and can indeed place an order.

I CAN'T TELL WHAT IS DIFFERENT! Anyone find anything yet?

The Air owners manual makes reference to the seat belt nag starting at a lower speed for 2027 and later models.

That's the only difference that I'm aware of, and it's relatively trivial.

Oh, and they dropped the 19¨ Aeronaut Stealth wheels.
