I take mine off road all of the time; forest service roads, trailhead access, etc. Nothing hardcore but definitely areas where good ground clearance is required. I am willing to bet that I am not the only one here that uses their Gravity this way.
The Gravity will never be faster than an Air Sapphire due to weight and aero. Even a Rimac with 2000hp is not any faster than a Sapphire due to traction limits. With the current electric cars, we are basically at the limits of street legal acceleration. Current street legal tires can only put down so much power, even with the current sophisticated traction controls of Sapphire or similar cars. At this point the only improvements can be by dropping weight or putting drag slicks. Or use a vacuum system like a McMurtry.
Wouldn't dropping weight limit traction even more?
I bought mind specifically for its soft-road capability. I have definitely damaged the wheels several inches up the rim on our other EV off-roading, and it would've been the Gravity instead if we had it at the time.
The California bear always faces left, as it does on the state flag. But Lucid has made right-facing bears for the right side of the car now, as it looks better to most.
I dunno. The idea of getting together with a bunch of Gravity off-roaders, hitting the trails, and then road rallying to an approved body shop to take pictures and get quotes sounds cool to me.
I've always been wondering how Lucid wants to position the Sapphire brand. Is it always going to be an on-road track monster? Or would Sapphire be the best they can achieve for a performance target?
Or a bicycle to not fall behind Rivian. It'd also provide other means of transportation when your Gravity doesn't unlock or when you get locked out with the key inside. A win-win!
The delayed launch of the Cosmos suggests that’s probably unlikely. While Napoli teased a “sportier” Gravity being unveiled this week, he was more measured in discussing the Cosmos while specifically saying prior vehicles were rolled out before they were ready. An unveil at this time would create some excitement and attention, but we’re still a year away from the vehicle launching and that’s assuming there aren’t any further delays.
In the earnings conference call on August 4, they said they would be introducing a sportier Gravity and Monterey car week.
Yes but you are confirming the point is that the current car already HAS the adjustable suspension to do 80% of trails and a very sophisticated AWD traction control. Someone just needs to actually make some off-roading content with Gravity agaisnt some of its competitors off-roading to a normal camp site to shut people up.
I think the Gravity would be a blast doing some Rallycross....This is one of my absolute favorite under the radar youtube channels....
