Looks good, but for Home Depot I prefer a 2-door standard cab. Which no one makes as an EV and are hard to find as a ICE.

Pretty light on specs. Given the release is another year out this was just to get people's attention and perhaps send some FUD out there.

Ford announced the Fathom EV truck for slightly less than $30K.
I may retire my minivan and get this for my Home Depot runs.
“ “reached a new depth of innovation, allowing the company to fathom possibilities once thought beyond reach.”

More like “ I can’t fathom why they built another EV truck”

I expect poor range for towing. EV tech not good for trucking yet. They should have put their efforts into a small/medium SUV.
Anyone buying a smaller budget EV pickup like this for distance towing (or for more than a small little trailer) should have their head examined. That's not what it's for, any more than a Ford Maverick is for hauling a 5th wheel RV. Just because it's a pickup doesn't mean there's not a wide range of sizes and capabilities.

It's for people that don't tow anything big or far, or don't tow at all, and just want a runaround hauler. Which is probably over half of pickup buyers as most never actually tow anything.

Yes towing the boat to the ramp and back home 35 miles total would be typical use case. Of course with two wheel drive you won't get up the wet ramp with the boat.

Typical use case for maybe 5% of pickup owners. If towing a boat, I'd get something bigger too (and as you say, probably 4WD).

Should make a nice runabout. I wonder how the repairability will stack up to Slate. That's a big deal for this sort of buyer and a traditional manufacturer like Ford doesn't have the best reputation there.

so 3 small EV trucks will be competing in 2028- nice!
Slate, Telo, and Fathom

I am not sure I would call it competing. I believe only one of them will see long term success, and it's not the Slate or Telo.
