Is it motor whine or tire whine?

I have been noticing some increased whine when driving the car lately. This has roughly coincided with the 2.10.0 update, which could be entirely coincidental. Sometimes I feel it might be tire noise--my Pirellis have about 10k miles on them, and honestly I don't exactly baby them if you know what I mean. Other times I'm convinced it is motor whine. If it is motor whine, it just started, and the timing re update 2.10.0 has me wondering. Thoughts? Experiences?
