True, but like it or not, Tesla changed expectations for the level of ongoing software support and updates existing customers (aka "yesterday's dollars") should get. And it's not hard to argue that willingness to continue to support and update a car's software (including adding more apps and features) for more than 10 minutes (the legacy expectation), has a significant impact on people's willingness to spend tomorrow's money on a carmaker.Sadly you may find that your expectations as an owner may diverge with shareholder expectations. For any company, and by extension shareholders, the focus is always on the next dollar not the last.
It's going to need to become the new normal for carmakers to thrive.
