Hi, I wanted to start a thread just on Lucid parts availability to find out what my Lucid brothers and sisters have experienced in the last few months with parts availability while their cars are in collision repair. I know it varies by part, and by model and by year, but my body shop quoted me some pretty scary leadtimes. Insiders have told me that with second shift in AZ shut down things should improve in this arena, but any recent experiences would be helpful as I determine next steps. I am in Northern California.

Thank you!

Actually, I did get into an accident a couple weeks ago and that has not been my experience. I am going to give a full summary once the car is repaired but it's not necessarily true that parts take 3-5 weeks. Mine did not and I had $18,000 of damage.

Must be nice. Mine is still in the shop since June 1st. $30k+ in damage. Found more damage during repairs, so waiting for a second set of parts.

Someone backed into my car mid June. I dropped my car off on 6/19 and they needed to order a new rear bumper as one of the scratches went over one of the sensors. They quoted 2 or 3 weeks for parts, and that held true as the bumper arrived on 7/17. I finally picked the car up on 7/24 (due to the body shop having issues updating some info to Lucid).

I'll try to attach before and after photos.

Looks like a decent job

My experience alone: parts availability has not been an issue. 24-48 hour waits for parts. Totally normal / best in class frankly.

I had my side view mirror knocked off by a passing car. The parts were ordered and the mobile tech serviceman (awesome guy btw), came and installed it while I was at work. Three week turnaround which was very good in my opinion.

One big drawback: he was unable to calibrate the camera (they don’t carry that equipment) and I needed to go to a car repair shop 40miles away for that. Alternative was to go to ATL (5.5h away) for Lucid to do it. I felt that this was an additional cost that should not have to be borne by the customer but oh well….

Are lead times for parts to a body shop vs lucid service center the same?

Based on my discussions, no. Service centers get the parts faster. The body shop I spoke with complained of long delays getting parts, and then damaged parts arriving after those long delays. Service center, zero issues.
