Lucid Gravity Touring
Hi all. I have been lurking here for a while and learned a lot from the content. I took the plunge and leased at Gravity Touring last month. I thought I would share some experiences and perspectives. Overall, I am very happy that I made the decision to get this car!

Before the Sale
I visited the Westchester, NY mall showroom / store - it was a very easy experience. I was a little apprehensive about stopping in, fearing they would pester me and/or that I wouldn't be able to explore the car. They let me look around at my leisure. I asked if I could take a test drive - and they arranged one; unsupervised. Was a very good experience. The test drive made me even more interested in the car.

The next day, I selected my car off of the website - and placed the deposit.

The sales process was different than a "regular" dealership. There were a few rounds of back and forth on details like pick up date, getting trade assessed, getting information to Lucid for registration transfer etc. It all worked out just fine, but having a separate phone call or email to take care of each step kept me wondering wondering what's next. It turns out that my sales consultant was new as well - so that may have been part of the dynamic.

Delivery
I took delivery at Plainville NY. The process was very easy, and there was a thorough explanation of the key features. The car had been cleaned/detailed nicely. The only issue was the rep said I could put my ez-pass anywhere, and that wasn't true. There's a separate thread on the forum about where to place EZPass. I can affirm that the EZpass was not recognized when just randomly on the windshield, and that it works just fine in the area with the very subtle pattern.

The key fob did not have the latest software; I updated the day after delivery. It has worked well the entire time.

The car
The car is a 2026 touring, 7-passenger, tahoe leather, luxury seating, DDPro with Tech pkg. I wouldn't have ordered DDPro if I had done a custom - build. The available cars with the features I wanted all had DDPro - and I'm actually really glad that I have it. It is very useful on the highway!

The base model stereo is fine, I would call it solid, but not amazing.

The heads-up display is not good - it's distracting, not adjustable enough for me (I'm tall and I can't get it positioned where it would it would be more visible). I've shut it off for now.

Everything else about the car has been awesome. Love the leather, the seat comfort, etc.

Road-trips
The day after I took delivery, I departed on a 1500 mile road trip. Charging at Tesla superchargers worked very well. I had one instance where it would not initiate a charge. I moved to the next stall and everything was fine. Also used Chargepoints at hotels along the way, and an Electrify America charger.

I consistently achieved 250 miles of usable range. I never let the battery get below 15%, and would charge back to 80% or a bit higher. That included me driving 75 - 80 on interstates with 70 mph speed limit. It felt like efficiency / range drops off at 70 mph, and REALLY drops off above 75 mph. I was nervous that I would feel like I was missing out by not having the extra capacity of the grand touring, but that hasn't been the case so far.

Home Charging
I had a ChargePoint HomeFlex installed - and that has worked well so far (only a few days in, but so far so good!)

Glitches
Only a couple of very minor things I've noticed so far. There have been a couple of times when I've used siri via carplay to send a text. After sending the text, the music i had been listening to doesn't come back. Have been able to get it back by changing input to a different source and then back.

The heads-up display has turned itself off (when I was trying to use it)

The range display switched itself from % of battery remaining to rated # of miles of range on its own.

Bottom line
I've driven 2000 miles in the first two weeks of having the car and love it! I'm really glad I made the swtich. Have had multiple people ask me about it while charging (and once at a red light).

Hope this is helpful for anyone thinking about getting a gravity!

Welcome, and thanks for sharing.

Obviously you have learned from your time lurking that the value of the forum is building upon our mutual experience; I applaud you for joining in!

What's your efficiency look like after 2000 miles?
I am also debating where I should go for GT or GGT. I will be taking in a month or two

I have a GT loaner on 22/23 wheels and I am seeing over 3mi/kwh. Which is higher than my GGT on 21/22’s getting in the high 2’s. I don’t have apples to apples scenarios but 593lbs difference between the two is definitely a starting point.

I have the same on my touring with 7 seater configuration and 22/23 pzero setup and I mostly get 3-3.2kwh mile. Which is pretty awesome and here I thought I was only one with that kind of numbers.

Did you get the comfort package or dynamic handling? What are your thoughts on getting (or not getting) them?

Thanks for the write up! I’ve been considering a Touring as well.

I did get the comfort package - the shades on the rear windows are pretty cool, actually. I have taken a couple of zoom meetings from the backseat with the car parked, and they help block sun and add even more privacy. I haven't really needed the heated wheel, etc. yet. The car is super quiet - I think the laminated glass contributes to that, but I don't have a comparison point.

I did not get dynamic handling. My most recent "main" car was a Lincoln Navigator - and compared to that the handling is amazing. I haven't had any concerns about turning radius, etc. But I didn't focus on that package either.

In between 3.1 and 3.2 so far. The stretch of the trip where I pushed the speed into the 75+ zone, the efficiency dropped to below 3.

Nice if you can do it. In my Air, my numbers are in the 2's and dropping. This is because I have a medical infirmity which gives me an overweight right foot. :)

I was able to get my HUD positioned to where I like it now. Had to position the image as low as it would go, then lower the driver seat lower than I normally prefer (sitting too high makes the image fade out). I'm 6'1".

Even though I'd rather sit higher, sitting lower (about in the middle) has another benefit - being able to see *somewhat* better out the rearview mirror. It's still bad because that wiper motor protrusion blocks the view badly, but sitting lower gets a little of that view back.

Once I got the HUD where I can see it, I actually like it now. But it took some adjusting to get there.

That's a great tip. Will give it a try. Now that you mention it, the rear wiper motor housing does get in the way on the rear view mirror somewhat with how I am sitting.

The topic of mirrors made me think of one other observation -- I really like the camera views around the car and the countdown in inches to near by objects when moving slowly or parking. However, the automatic braking when parking is pretty aggressive. There have been a couple of times when I felt like I was fighting the car to get it into the stall/spot the way I would want it to.

Just ordered my Gravity GT today. I also just went into The Westchester mall and struck up a conversation... I was actually there to test drive the Rivian R2! I came back a couple of days later for an unescorted test drive and loved it. The one I selected out of inventory (to collect the sweet incentives) happened to be in King of Prussia, PA, not Plainview, so I'm going to have to drive down there, give them my car and start my Lucid experience with a drive back home to Westchester. Once I've got it, I'll post some reactions. But I wanted to second your impressions of the staff there in White Plains.

Yeah that's the downside of 1PD (HOLD). I find it harder to park, and to make small, careful movements, like inching forward just a bit in my garage or a parking spot. Most people that like 1PD get used to it but I never did, so I just drive in CREEP mode like a gas car, using the brake pedal instead of the accelerator at those slow speeds. Having regen on still provides ample (quite strong) regen slowing at speeds above 5 MPH, but I like to use the brake pedal for the final slowing/stopping.

Some people swear by 1PD (HOLD) in EVs, but some of us prefer to continue in 2PD mode (CREEP). No right or wrong, just personal preference.

I'm in the one pedal driving camp. If you are new, you should expect it to feel "wrong" for a bit. After all you are overriding years of experience driving with one more pedal than is necessary. It takes a little time to get used to it, but some people really like how it simplifies the driving experience. You can come to a full stop at whatever deceleration you like, while converting that forward motion back into electricity to charge your battery. Nothing is lost to friction and waste heat. You'll also get better at inching forward when you want to.

In time you might find the idea of a car creeping forward when you are not actively braking to be a defect you've been putting up with for years.

Yeah for some reason all the press articles I have read testing the Touring indicates it just gets closer to EPA no matter what...

How long did you spend on charging station ?
How many people were in the car?

Thank you for answering...

Nothing is lost to heat either way as long as you have regen on (which typically does all the slowing down to the last few MPH). 1PD (HOLD) uses friction brakes for the last few MPH, just like 2PD (CREEP) driving.

There's pros and cons to both. Two ways to accomplish the same thing.

Two people in the car for almost all of the driving so far. And a couple of suitcases.

i didn't keep a detailed log on the charging time. Would estimate 15 minutes for most stops. It never felt like I was waiting around for the car to finish. There were a couple of times that I let it get to closer to 85-95% SOC which obviously took longer (more like 25 - 30 mins). Only did that while at a charging station that had open stalls, we were grabbing a bite to eat, and were setting out on another longer leg of the trip.
