Kayak or SUP Tie Down

Has anyone found a Gravity solution for tying down the front or back of a rooftop kayak or stand up paddleboard (SUP)? I haven't found an anchor point to attach a strap to the front or rear without installing the tow hitch. I have searched the user group and haven't found a thread. Tying down is safer for highway speeds.

I too wondered about this as I sometimes toss a long surfboard up there when we go camping at lakes and the racks are so dang close together it's a concern!
With even longer vessels like a kayak, I think the front tow eye bolt and rear tow hitch are going to be your only real anchor points as they made the body so aero-emphasized" that everything else is smooth and lacks any other real purchase points

Has anyone removed the front tow eye bolt cover and successfully put it back in? I am concerned the cover plate won't go back in easily or correctly once it is removed. I had that with the Tesla tow hitch cover that never fit right again and it was frustrating.
