2025 Air Touring
A few weeks ago I started feeling like the steering on my '25 AT was out of spec. Hard to put it in precise terms, but it started feeling vague on center, wallowing in turns, wandering a bit on the highway, at least in comparison to what I was accustomed to. I can't get a real assessment from service until September, but I did go on a drive with my advisor at the wheel. He didn't think anything was strange. We also had time to scan for trouble codes and none were found. For good measure, I took the car to a trusted alignment shop and found everything to be in spec.

With a little time to kill, I did a soft reboot, a couple of superstitious lock-to-lock exercises of the wheel, then switched drive modes from smooth to sprint and flogged it for a while. Now back in smooth, I'm feeling like things are normal again.

SO either this whole episode has been in my hypersensitive imagination or there's something that got reset between drive modes that tightened things up. Does that sound like expected behavior? My understanding is that only the steering weight changes between modes, not the ratio or anything like that. Does Lucid tinker with the drive mode specs via OTA updates? Without indicating it in the release notes?

What's your tire wear look like? Could be uneven tread.

Thanks friends, these are plausible. I'm getting down to it on tread wear but not terribly uneven.

It really feels to me like something went temporarily awry with the electric boost, like some stray signal was causing it to fight itself somehow, and it got set right after the mode change, because things feel alright now. I'll have service do a deeper dive when the car goes in in September.

How about toggling on and off the lane-keeping feature?
