I spoke with Lucid Lease Return Customer Service and they didn't have any answers.

So just had my pre-inspection, and a couple issues that I was aware of came up. One scratched rim (its minor but it is what it is), and I have a ripped drivers seat. I also received a recall notice a couple weeks back for something else that needs to be done.

The ripped seat actually should be covered under warranty, and so is the recall notice for some electrical work. Unfortunately, the earliest the service center could get me in when I called two weeks ago was end of July, which is past the date I need to return the vehicle. The service center said they are 99% sure the seat would be covered under warranty.

How should I go about returning the vehicle, when there are still warranty items that can fix the issues?

Unless there is clear evidence that the seat was damaged by sharp object it should be covered under warranty....I have had seat covered by warranty, as have many others..

I have a Lucid AT lease that expires on 09/16/26. Lucid Financial Services has sent me a letter advising me to schedule a pre-return inspection with Openlane. Has anyone had any a pre-return inspection either Openlane? I would appreciate hearing from you. Pre-return inspection allows you to get your vehicle fixed at your own choice of repair shop as opposed to Lucid doing it which would most likely be more expensive.

I just had Openlane "inspect" my car. I asked the guy why they were doing it, and it really had nothing to do with you understanding what needed to be fixed prior to turn-in. They do it for a report they send out to potential auction houses so that if LFS does not want to keep the lease return and try to sell themselves, they have a third-party report of the car the auction houses can then "bid" using. He said after the inspection the car was in perfect condition, but that by no means guarantees LFS won't find problems to charge once you actually return the car.

“Buy bids” same thing used car lots do when they “value your trade”, they’re getting bids from Carmax, Carvana, other dealers, etc. normal.

I am set to return my Air the week before you. I have an Openlane inspection set for first week of July... I just want to see if they need me to get tires or other fixable items handled --as opposed to getting charged for them upon return. Bank of America has a terrible reputation regarding charges so I want to be ahead of the game. If you do have bumper damage, scratched rims and other obvious stuff its best to do it on your own before they run up charges.

I had a pre-inspection on my AGT and my lease ends Wednesday. I did have the rims repaired on my own and it was a lot less than what they would have charged. I read that people have charges they weren't expecting post turn in so I am curious how I will fare. Haven't purchased another car yet. Checking in to the forum today I see people have service center concerns. I'm in Sarasota Florida and haven't had many issues at all. Haven't found another car that I'm super excited about but I'm looking for options in case the lease return is discouraging. I will say the sales initiative on Lucid's end is pretty bad. My calls go unreturned as well as emails. It's crazy really

I had my 23 pure inspected by open lane last week. Turn in is sept 23rd.

The guy said I was top 1% he’d ever seen which made me feel good of course. Here’s hoping lucid doesn’t decide otherwise after return.

OP, did you return the car with the ripped seat? I’m in the same situation now.

I highly recommend taking the car to Carmax first and getting their offer before accepting Lucid’s offer. Ultimately, I traded my lucid air GT to Tesla. Their trade-in process is simple to take pictures of the car and they make an offer which turned out to be exactly the same as Carmax, but with the sales tax advantage, trading in at Tesla was a better option.

You got offer from Carmax? Their site says they don't sell Lucid.

Yes, quick and easy process. I always do thst before trading in. Usually, the trade in is a better deal but, in one case, a Porsche dealer said they couldn't touch that offer. It makes a great negotiating tool.

BTW, when returning or trading in, be sure to delete your payment method from the Lucid app. Two weeks later the new owner was charging Electrify America refills to my Amex card. You have to call Lucid to have the car removed from your app.

Once again...it appears that Car Max is not interested in Lucid.. Just curious if anybody has actually gotten a buy quote from them Screen Shot 2026-07-30 at 3.30.53 PM.webp

Yes, I did get an offer from Carmax which I declined because Tesla made the same offer as a trade-in. Maybe they were just going to flip it to auction which is probably what Tesla did.

Just did it for my Lucid Air. Make sure you check Sell/Trade. Put in the VIN and answer a few questions and they will send a quote. I didn't finish so there is a range. I had gotten actual quotes on my Air from them in the past.

2025 Lucid Air Touring Estimate range: $38,418-$48,444

I did just get a CarMax bid, but its stupid low in my estimation., They are not aggressive buyers of Lucid's. I will be curious to see what BofA offers as buyout... I actually sold a Macan to AutoNation used car buying group for 2500 more than CarMax offered about 18 months ago
