Daily Charge

I have the lucid charging cable. I have been leaving it plugged in. I noticed today that the body of the evse is warm to the touch. That seems like a pretty big power draw for something I only use 16 hours a week actually charging.

That's the common wisdom for NMC batteries, which Lucid uses. Many short charges are less stressful to the cells than waiting and doing longer ones. That's contrary to how people fill their gas tank, so it may feel weird to plug it when it's still at 70%. The battery has no problem being at 100%, but leaving it at that state of charge for a prolonged period stresses the cells. Charging to 80% for daily use gives you most of the range, without wearing the battery down unnecessarily. If you are starting a long roadtrip in the morning, feel free to charge to 100%. Last thing is to use DC fast chargers sparingly. That also can wear down the cells over many uses. This is all about taking care of the battery, so that you retain as much of its maximum charge as possible over the years. Lots of EVs are now out there with more than 90% of the original battery capacity after 10 years.
