Creep mode default setting?

Jesus, creep mode off and regen off??? You’re doing it wrong. Just get a gas car. that’s the worst possible experience of driving an EV.
 
On this topic, does anyone else feel that the release of auto-hold when leaving from a full stop is excessively harsh? My BMW iX is as smooth as butter, and apparently the new iX3 is even better. Not sure why this calibration is so difficult for Lucid?

I agree, but it is a first year car, so that comes with more fine tuning, IMHO. Polestar 3 throttle/brake release action is better as well. I believe Lucid will get there. My 2025 Model Y Perf was similar to Gravity "clunk" when leaving from a light.

At least it's better than the Air's, but this isn't Lucid's strong suit. Our Volvo EV and our Model 3 performance were both very noticeably smoother. I didn't know that tip-in lurch was a thing until I had the Air.

This is purely a software control thing. The iX was not always smooth, and I did not use Auto Hold because of it. But then BMW released a software update last year that perfected Auto Hold starts and I have been using it ever since. If it is a priority, Lucid should be able to make the Gravity start smoothly - unless there is a physical limitation with the brake itself.

Lucid being an EV-only manufacturer should prioritize this unique feature of EVs, especially when historically ICE manufacturers are outperforming them - regardless of age of company. This type of smooth progression from auto-hold is now table stakes.

That's why I always drive Air on roll and then its super smooth...

When the Software Lead was in Charlotte for the Lucid Owners Club two weeks ago I asked him if the SWFeedback alias was still being looked at, now that Emad was gone. He said that they still look at everything that comes in. Agreed, that some kind of response would be nice.

Having monitored an alias like this before, I can tell you that most of what gets sent in direct from customers can't actually be replicated or followed up on. Plus there are a lot of differing opinions on "how it should work", as there is here on the forum. Even if you have a verifiable bug with steps to reproduce that replicates reliably there are considerations of dev time investment to fix, prioritization vs. other issues, and opportunity cost vs. other features being worked on. Issues that have high impact and are reported by a lot of customers are more likely to get dev time away from new feature development (e.g. point-to-point self driving). Not sure if they share dev resources with Cosmos code development, but that could also be a consideration.

I've never noticed any harshness.
 
Mine is totally smooth when starting up from auto hold. In fact, I was surprised by this thread. Shows what software control and configuration can do to change the personality of a car.
 
Tip-in behavior isn't bad in Gravity, just not as smooth as other EVs I've owned. I try to position my car within an inch or so of blocking the garage door sensors so that I have enough room to comfortably walk behind it when parked. It's not always easy due to positional "stiction".

Tip-in has improved with 3.6.0. I agree, though, it could still be smoother, especially for garage parking.

Prior to 3.6.0, I always turned on creep mode when I parked in my garage, as I park within inches of my garage door (using a laser pointer for positioning). With 3.6.0, I can get away with using the accelerator most of the time. Sometimes, it takes a few tries of drive/reverse to get the exact positioning.

On a tangent, I just installed the infinity shield, discussed in another thread, and it works great. I no longer have to worry about pulling in far enough to clear the garage door.

No fix in the near future that I am aware of, probably low on the importance list.

It's a shame because it seems like it should be so simple to add it to the list of settings that profiles already remember. The table already exists, should just need one more line added to it. Or so it would seem.

And it's such an obvious one to be in the profiles too. How they never thought of it in the first place is puzzling.

I doubt it’s easy as the setting is in two spots and still doesn’t care about what you want…
