HEllo,
I am currently in the US, but plan to move back soon to Austria. I also plan to buy a clean title Lucid Air Touring, from 2023 while I am in the Sates. I would take the car back to Europe when I relocate. My question: would I get OTA in Europe? is Lucid able to migrate the vehicle to European backend support ? THe German dealership asksk for a VIN number, but I did not buy the car yet so I do not have it, and my purchase is dependent on the questions above.. Anyone has experience with such a situation? Have a nice day!

Do you realize it will have the wrong charging port for EU fast chargers?
There are several adapters available plus tesla suc network has different connector in europe than in the us, so it is not my primary concern. OTA updates are.

You really need to double check with Lucid. I believe someone else here wanted to do this and found out that Lucid will not support US spec cars in Europe and your car would loose a lot of functionality. Remember these are all internet connected devices that can be very easily bricked by manufacture.

Yeah that might be true but isnt it quite expensive to get the car then to europe?
And as

From my knowledge I do not recommend it

Unless you are staying for short period like 5 months or less. It will be cheaper than renting to ship your car there and use it and then ship it back , this is my first scenario

Second scenario is when you trying to avoid huge tax bill like in Turkey then getting your car there is cheaper than buying your own there

Other than these scenarios
No matter how you slice it or dice it, it won’t worth it

I really do not know how it is a replay to my original questione. I would import it. Not for 5 months, but forever.

Hmmm not how I interpret that response
Basically I’m hearing it’s going to be a major pain in the a$$ that maybe you could put up with for a few months. But it’s not at all what you’ll be willing to live with forever. So I’m hearing the advice is nonononono, just going to be a serious headache.

Your key issue is OTA and backend support (once in Europe). I would not rely on anyone on this forum to answer that question. I would only trust actual written response from Lucid before attempting to do this. I have a distinct feeling that their answer will be NO.

I am also have a feeling that any warranty on the car would be void.

yes, the OTO and backend change are the real problems. I wrote to Lucid about it. as for warranty, I do not think that geographical limitations are stated in the warranty rules... and it will be a clean-title car.

I guess if the car was out of warranty and it had the latest update and you were satisfied with how it works as is
Then maybe…
