Anybody have the AndroidAuto update where it will fill up the full screen now?

My phone and android auto app just updated to Android 17 and I excitedly went to my car..but upon connecting and launching of Android Auto I'm sad to report that there are no changes....looks all the same to me as before...same small rectangular cutout ..so I now am back to disabling Android Auto and use native maps...

What version of Android Auto includes the full screen capability?

A future one. It's in development and testing at Google.
Someone who would know said that it wouldn't require software changes in our cars.

Coincidentally my Google Maps looks a lot better on CarPlay in my Air as of a recent app update. It actually looks more like Apple Maps especially in the tree graphics and 3D imagery.

Got the Pixel 11 Pro last week. Sadly no update yet for the full screen android auto. hopefully soon. My wife has a Mini and this will make such a huge difference in that oddly designed circle screen.

This has nothing to do with the phone model or the Android version. It’s a separate Android Auto app developed by a different team, and as soon as the new version is released, it will be available to all Android phone users, and the fullscreen interface will become available immediately. The same goes for Google Maps with lanes and intersection/ramp views.

Those will be very welcome improvements.

Yup I understand that. I was just hoping with the release of the new phone, they would release the AA with the feature.
