Is there a way to permanently default to "creep" mode? I am more comfortable driving this way and I have needed to reset it to Creep mode every time I come back to the car.
 
I agree Creep should be the default and how annoying that the car won't remember the setting.
My wife's Taycan needs Regen turned on every time we drive the car....seriously?
Hopefully someone on here knows if there's a way.

Also, Another poster pointed out that Creep is more efficient than hold (coasting = Max efficiency)

Has anyone else set their steering wheel custom button to regen?

For the most efficiency in priority order:

1) Coast to slow down.
2) Regen to slow down (less regen is better, as only 60% to 70% energy is recovered).
3) Brake to slow down (0% energy recovered).

The best efficiency is to turn regen off as long as you don’t have to touch the brakes, so I’m using the custom button to quickly swap from coast to regen braking. The only problem is I use DDP for highway driving, which is the best time to turn regen off. It gets tricky in city driving, but sometimes it’s fun when there is an...

While I think that it should be fixed and keep the setting, I'd guess most people (myself included) prefer hold.
 
I still want Tap-to-Creep or changeable while driving haha

My Subaru Outback has a button to "hold" (it applies the parking brake until the car begins to drive forward) next to the hood release. It's handy at stoplights at the top of hills and on inclined ramps in a stick shift but I regularly take the car out of gear to coast to a stop. If it had a default "hold" setting it'd drive me nuts so I can relate to the OP's preference.

I'd like to have the option to default to creep in two scenarios: always when in Reverse and when in Drive, when the parking sensors sense something and the 360 display kicks-in.

Hold is objectively better. Creep only exists because of dumb limitations of automatic transmissions in ICE vehicles, and people got used to it. Once you unlearn that bad habit, hold is just way better.

It’s not a requirement for ICE automatics at all. It’s just built that way because most people prefer it. The torque converter can disengage completely if programmed too, same with DCTs. Brake hold was introduced into ICE cars decades ago.

weird that you insist on being wrong about this. Yes, modern ICE transmissions have the capability of holding. but the dumb, inferior creep mechanic only became a thing because of limitations of automatic transmissions in the first place. Imitating this limitation in and EV is as dumb as generating fake engine noises.

Lyriq also has a hold/regen on the steering wheel which I like too

I'm open minded and know all about unlearning bad habits...I'll have to try it and see (i.e. if they ever start making LT's!)
 
Hold is great for most driving. I hate having to keep the brake pressed at a stoplight. At the same time, creep is great for fine speed control. I park a few inches from my garage door to maximize garage walkway.

I filed a bug report to [email protected] about not being able to select creep every time I tried to park in my garage, thinking it was another software glitch. I finally realized that you must be in park to toggle creep/hold. This is a strange decision by Lucid, as other cars allow the toggle at any time.

Mercedes and Tesla both do brake hold better, you just double press.
 
There is a menu option to select creep/hold default.

It doesn’t give a sh1t that I selected creep as my default.

Set to hold the stop/start is too abrupt, I want it to creep as my foot is on the brake.

I also noticed the power meter does the same thing creep or hold so it’s not like you are more efficient that way at a stop light.

A way to contain criticism, perhaps. The creep but has been that way for 5 years, perhaps they’re ok with it. On my 26 if you enable it, it only works once anyways then never again until next drive cycle.

Polestar (and maybe Volvo) let you set creep as a default. But you can press firmly on the brake to enable "auto hold" at a stop light and then let the pedal go. Pressing the accelerator enables creep again. I'd take that on the Gravity.

Any update on this? My wife and I both prefer creep mode and Regen braking off but the car will not remember these settings for us. In fact I noticed default regen braking just recently changed from standard to high. Wtf.
