Is battery preconditioning advised if charging Air at Tesla Supercharger @ 50 kW?

As the title, anyone have any insight or recommendation into this?
 
Not Unless in winter and your battery is totally cold soaked by sitting out in low temps. 50kw is a very low threshold for these vehicles.
 
It couldn’t hurt. I’d precondition, especially in colder weather.
 
I concur that it would be beneficial to Precondition when leaving your origin point in cold weather (<50°F) and will be stopping for a DC charge shortly thereafter. Warming the pack will boost its range, and the energy required to perform the Precondition is nullified since you're headed to a DC site anyway.

So, it's much less about improving the charge rate (since you're aiming for 50kW instead of 300+kW) and more about improving the cold state of the battery.

If you're headed to a Tesla site in warm weather, I think this could all be tossed out.

Just keep it simple. Always precondition and let the BMS (battery management system) do its thing. If it’s warm, the BMS may not do anything.
 
Personally if I am following a route I just decide with the car where we will charge and let i5 decide if it needs to precondition. In that respect th3 sw seems to do a pretty good job 🎉

The same is true with the Gravity if the destination is a charging stop. It will precondition automatically.

The times I’ve activated preconditioning manually is when my destination is a nearby stop before charging, such as dropping off family for food while I go charge. I’m not sure Lucid (or any vehicle) can time preconditioning in multi-stop routes, as the intent is not known. Will it be a 1 minute drop-off, 5-10 minute takeout, or 1/2-1 hour sit down meal before reaching the charging station?

Also, I think preconditioning turns off at low SOC, but I’m not 100% sure. I recall manually turning on preconditioning at 10% SOC when my arrival was predicted to be 5%, but I don’t recall if preconditioning was on but turned off at 10% or if I beat Lucid to turning it on.
 
I wouldn't recommend it. Assuming you are arriving at a lower state of charge, If you are having hitting even 50Kw - you have more serious issues. Save your range.
 
Some Tesla chargers can’t deliver more than 50kw, happens in mine also. And yet at EVgo or EA I regularly hit a couple hundred kw, decreasing as the pack charges.
 
Teslas are mostly (>90%) low (400V) voltage. Almost everyone else is high (800V) voltage. Airs are limited to 50kw when charging on low voltage chargers.
