Update on Our Next OTA Release (post-3.6.0)

I've never had the bug where audio drops out from time to time and takes several seconds to come back again... until now. My car got the 3.6.0 update and I only had it for a couple of days before it went off to the SC for a month. At first I thought it was happening when the car moved from wifi to cellular connection, but I've also experienced it just going down the road.

Was there a code change on this in 3.6.0? Is there a new known issue? I'm getting it while playing Tidal tracks.

Losing connectivity frequently, yes. Happens to me a lot too, although it actually seems better since 3.6.0.

It's hard to tell whether it's weak AT&T coverage in my area, or a weak Gravity antenna/dongle, or software. Or some combination therefore. All we know is that streaming audio cutting in and out (and no SXM antenna to depend on) is quite annoying when it happens over, and over, and over.

Just realized third row AC doesn’t come on with seats folded down, but that’s where we transport our two 65lb golden doodles. 3rd row AC control would be very very nice.
 
If you get the 5 seater version it looks like they delete the 3rd row vents entirely. My two shelties would have appreciated having the air back there.

After standing there for 10 seconds already, I know it's going to randomly unlock somewhere in the next 10 seconds. Might be the 11th second, might be the 12th, 13th, etc. I'm bound to hit a button right as it's about to finally open on it's own a few times, purely coincidentally. I've learned to dismiss those rare few times as coincidence, not causation.

The loaner I have right now does exactly the same as this. My Gravity never did it, very wierd.

Mine does the same thing at the most inconvenient times it seems. Standing next to your car for 20-30 sec in the middle of scorching hot parking lot, while people are waiting for your parking spot is uniquely Lucid ownership experience. I'm considering a large sign at the back "It's Lucid, stupid" so people know it's not me zonking out for no reason.

I know this doesn't fix it or make it right or any better, but have you all tried using the app before you reach the car? Like as you are walking out of the store/restaurant/location you pull up the app and unlock the doors or even do the remote start option? If it's raining or something, I will use the app to open the frunk or trunk from a distance like this so we can throw our stuff in quickly and jump in the car. Just trying to offer suggestions until the fix is working for you all.

I tried that a few times. Some of those times it wouldn't load my profile and would come up as guest instead. That was worse than standing there for 20 seconds because my settings were wrong.

Plus it takes about as long to pull out my phone, open the app, and unlock the door as it does to just stand there and wait. It does open immediately maybe 30% of the time, and within 7 seconds most of the time. That's easier than remembering to pull the phone out and do the app. It's just those random times (~20%) that it takes 20 seconds where it would have been faster to pull out the phone. It's one of those "pick your poison" things. As annoying as it is to just stand there like a dummy pretending I'm looking for something, it's still usually faster. And sometimes it actually works correctly! 🎉

Do you have an iPhone? You can create a widget shortcut that takes about two seconds get to and send the command to the car. I have ones for the doors lock and unlock, opening and closing the trunk and frunk too. And if you have an Apple Watch, you can assign the shortcut as a complication to simply run right off your watch face (tho I'd be a little more hesitant to go this route as an accidental press could unlock your car or something, depending on how your watch is configured). If any of this helps, glad to offer it.

Android. The widgets the Lucid app comes with still take a few clicks. But honestly it wouldn't really be an improvement even if they were 1-click. Pulling the phone out of a pocket, unlocking it, waiting for it to connect to the car, then hitting the unlock button in the app, then pressing the handle in on the car is not only harder to remember to do and a bit annoying in itself, it's usually no faster than just walking up to the car and waiting an average of 5-7 seconds (sometimes immediate like it should be, sometimes as much as 20 seconds). It's not unusual to have something in my hand(s) when getting to the car too, which makes juggling the phone tricky. The whole point of the fob is that it's completely passive. No remembering, no doing, just walk up to the car and get in like every car for the last 25 years.

Appreciate the suggestions, but the app method really isn't any better. The exception would be if I'm turning climate on first. But even then I often want it to run for at least a few minutes to get to temp, and don't really wanna leave the car unlocked for those few minutes before I get there.

It'll probably start working right some day. Each update seems to fix a few more people. And PAAK should be coming at some point (if it works).

I don't think you have to unlock the car to run the ac/heat before you get into the car.

Right, I just meant the only way using the app to unlock the door vs the slow fob might be more convenient is if I'm pulling the phone out to use the app to start climate anyway. Then it's just one more click with phone already in hand and app already opened. But doing both at the same time means leaving the car unlocked while it's getting to temp. And doing them at different times brings me back to the original reason why just standing there for some seconds is still probably easier to unlock the car.

My app functions fine on iphone. Only issues are when the car shows the “no connection” error. Is that At&T or the car. No idea
