I'm looking to configure my own build for a 2026, but the website keeps offering me about 20 vehicles that are already built....most of them far away. Is it possible to still place an order?
 
It seems it is the same as in Germany.
They want to get rid of the current stock before allowing own configurations.

All air configurations can only be saved. Gravity can be configured and 8-12weeks lead time.
 
It's because they are clearing inventory in preparation for the 2027 Air launch. They do this every summer. I'd expect custom 2027 Air builds to open late July/early August.

Last year the 2026 Air was released on July 22.

Thanks for the info. Do you think the hefty incentives that Lucid is offering right now to clear out the 2026 will continue towards 2027 orders? I would doubt that, right?

They probably will not, though they will likely remain for any lingering 2026 Airs. Usually takes a few months for them to offer incentives for the new model year after it is announced.
 
There has been some conjecture that Lucid may slide back new 2027 Air production until current Air inventory burns off. I don’t know if there is anything solid behind that, but one recent report used language suggesting Lucid may “hold back on Air,” and I’m not sure what that really means in practical terms.

It’s a little frustrating because my 2023 Air lease is up in September, and I had been thinking seriously about replacing it with another Air. The problem is that I’m not seeing current builds that really fit what I want.
