"Pull Forward" Call From Lucid

Look at Porsche, you need to literally beg them and spend 500k on their cars before they would even consider you for a GT3…..and Ferrari has a bigger snout…Porsche in big trouble, Ferrari will be next in a decade…bye bye ICE cars
How are Porsche and Ferrari in trouble? And, are you inferring the two brands are not planning to offer electric?

Until SCCA and other racing series consider ICE engines to be "vintage" there will be support for ICE cars. Imagine BMW, Porsche, Audi, etc. to declare they aren't supporting ICE products anymore. "Nope, sorry, no more 24 Hours of Lemans, no more GTP, no more weekend racing at your local racetrack."

I get the mainstream daily driver becoming electric, but to bet against the ICE engine's existence over the next 20 or more years - I'd take that bet, but I probably won't be here to collect the bet.

Sorry, off topic but couldn't resist.

Porsche is navigating a severe financial crisis, reporting a 98% collapse in operating profit and a €4.7 billion writedown. Hit by crashing sales in China, slowing EV demand, and heavy U.S. tariffs, the brand is shifting its focus away from mass EV volume toward high-margin ICE vehicles. Porsche reported an operating profit of just €90 million for 2025 — a jaw-dropping collapse from €5.3 billion the previous year.

Don’t forget…. It’s VOLKSWAGEN money…. And VW Will never let the company they stole die…. Porsche will never fail.

Yes they should have never entered the EV market how they did….

But even Porsche is saying they are moving past the EV market and where they once said they will full steam EV china whooped their bottoms…. They learned… but will never collapse. Daddy VW Will always insulate.

Candidly I think their price increases over the last few years significantly contributed to this. I’m talking pre tariffs. Just 5-10 years ago you could get a base 911 for just over 100k. Now it’s up in a range that you used to be able to get a GTS at. The increase was a cash grab and disproportionate to any real world factors. It went from the attainable sports car to unreachable in a few years.

I owned a 2015 and 2017 Boxster and the fact those are pushing 90k with desirable options now is absurd.

Edit: still the best cars I’ve ever driven though.

We were just talking about this here at work. It is pretty amazing the price increase…. HOWEVER the other side of that is that 100% contributes to the resale value surge on the 911.

We have an S/T On the showroom floor that sold MSRP 370k. It WILL SELL for 647k. Someone will buy it.

However Porsche has said they will NOT adjust pricing in 2027. They will never bring it down. But it won’t go up (( at least for 12 mos))

Oh absolutely and I get that. I was just talking point of entry price. Okay they wanna move the 911 up I suppose I could understand that (although the base should always stay attainable), but the prices Boxsters and caymans are going for now is mad. I’ve seen my 2017 very similar spec’d (sapphire blue metallic…RIP…my favorable color I’ve ever owned) list these days for the same 71k back in 2017…with 30k plus miles and almost 10 years old!

Crazy.

My dad has a 2018 gt3 with under 10k miles. He paid 180k. He is going to crush it when he goes to sell at some point.

Soooooo happy to see Lucid using this to control portfolio! Sooooo smart. Also if they apply the BMW model to this as well they will force the Lucid dealers to purchase a large percentage of the cars and incentivize them to certify them and offer special financing on the CPO cars. Fingers crossed....

Does anyone know if they have been doing pull-ahead programs long?
The Lease Pull Ahead program apparently is no longer available. I received the offers in both May and June but wasn't ready to do anything at the time. Now, with a little more than 2 months left on my Air lease, I was seriously considering using the program to move to an in-stock Gravity. Oh, well - it looks like I'll wait and explore my Lucid and non-Lucid options in September.

I am paying 509/mo lease on a crazy deal I got in March 2025 on my Pure. If they offered a pull ahead at the same price I’d be all over it. But I don’t think I’ll ever get it near where I am now again. The Tourings were only 650 too when I leased. Now they’re in the 800s.

You will be lucky to get a Pure for less than $800 per month. Tourings are going north of $950 per month currently. Tax inclusive.

With regards to Lucid going the route of 'dealerships'. I would hate this. It is darn near impossible to find dealerships to work with that don't do shady shiznit. I also enjoyed paying a $75 doc fee for my Lucid instead of outrageous doc fees I've paid at 'dealerships'. That mandatory fee no dealership will eliminate. I believe the most common standard now is $399 doc fee but some are as high as $2000 depending on where in the USA you happen to be shopping. In Illinois, that doc fee is regulated and goes up every year. Right now it's just barely under $400 (helped my parents buy a new Kia recently)

Hopefully by the time my lease is up in March 2028 there will be an updated model or lower cost/different incentives. I'd have a hard time paying that much more for something otherwise unchanged, but I do realize I'm currently way under market. Time will tell.
