Confirming here that the Tidal app is capping the number of albums it will display from my collection at 250. Some of you may not be using Tidal this way, but I like to treat it like my own record library rather than letting it run playlists or stations, or just doing searches for things as I think of them. Right now I have 311 albums in my Tidal collection, and since the app doesn't let you sort, I can only access the most recently added 250, with the older stuff falling off the list as I add newer stuff.

As has been noted elsewhere, the app would be greatly improved if a sort function were added. It would also be nice if the "artists" page would automatically populate based on who's represented in the "albums" collection, instead of being an unrelated and separately managed list. But at minimum, it would be great to get rid of the 250 album cap. That's just not very many albums, and I don't want to have to manage a car-only playlist every time I add new music.

Does anybody know how to officially request these kinds of corrections?

Otherwise, I really like Tidal, and if you're not using it, please give it a try. The fidelity is great, and as a musician and composer, I appreciate their relatively artist-friendly posture. Their royalty payout rate is on the high side, and they've just released an AI music policy that prioritizes transparency and de-monetizes AI music on the platform.

I haven't manually added albums as I haven't had albums in a streaming surface because i used to buy them/rip them and most haven't been digitally available to download (except those directly with the artists) so i haven't bought any in years...but I would concur that 250 isn't a lot for someone who enjoys listening through albums. I think I have about 500 in my own collection.

That being said, we found a glitch that my lucid service centre didn't know tidal had (just to add on top of weird tidal things). It may be just my car but if I have a dolby atmos track playing, it'll only play if i select the track directly (either on the track or through the album) but NOT when it's coming off a playlist (it'll play the standard definition of the track; not the dolby atmos).

Like you, I actually enjoy tidal a lot. I just wish these little things could be fixed.

edit: to answer your question, i'm not sure who would answer this directly. It would have to be the software team, audio team (they had a dedicated one before) or maybe it's something being limited from tidal's side)

You should send to [email protected]. I'm assuming Lucid integrated this app themselves via TiDAL's API\SDK so it could also be a limitation of what the SDK\API can do.

You are way ahead of me on the album count, so thank you for this information. When I have reached out to Tidal Customer Service in the past over log-in issues in the car, they were quite responsive, so you may want to contact them as well as Lucid.

I didn't have much luck with Tidal customer service when I asked them how I could search for and add Atmos tracks to a playlist using the Android phone app or Windows PC app or browser..
Their answer was "get an iPhone"

Tidal is the worst app in the history of mankind.

The Android Automotive one is, for sure. The Android phone one is actually pretty good.

Which was the right answer tbh 😂

Does the in-car version of Tidal allow for local downloading of playlists?

btw, Volvo is now getting Apple Music with spatial audio support thru an OTA

Everyone seems to be getting it apart from Lucid 😤

Tesla + all the AAOS cars with an app store ecosystem
My understanding is Apple doesn’t have an AAOS App in the store so Rivian, Porsche, Mercedes, GM, etc. are all built natively into the cars software like Tesla.

This might be the case for Volvo as well, since they say it will be delivered by OTA. Otherwise, additional apps generally just show up in the car's app store, unrelated to an OTA.
I wonder if Apple does this to avoid decompilation of an AAOS Apple Music app.
