I would like the extra range of the GT and a bit concerned about the mileage
Lucid wont accept Extended warranty that DIRECT PAYS? WHAT?!?!?!

I wouldn’t be concerned about the mileage. My Model X has 140k miles and is still going strong.
Wanting the range of the GT it’s a very good reason to trade, though. Even though my Model X is perfectly fine at 140k miles, wanting more range (and a bunch of other things) was what put me on the path to Lucid.
I would get the AGT over the AT just for the range, as I tend to do long drives/outings/road-trips, but not out of concern about mileage.

Did you get an extended warranty on your Model X? Claude AI tells me that getting an extended warranty is a waste of money given the small number of moving parts ( excluding battery/drive train warranty).

Tesla does the same - you can still use the extended warranty, you just have to pay for it and then get reimbursement. The trouble comes when Tesla or Lucid doesn’t want to document and diagnose correctly for the extended warranty company so you can get pre-approval before repairs. This has nothing to do with a manufacturer participating or Fidelity doing something wrong, it’s more of another terrible decision by Lucid to make it crappy for their customers.

No, I didn’t not get an extended warranty. There is no engine and everything associated with an engine, so fewer moving parts, indeed. Tires are my biggest expense.

Prior to my current Gravity, I had a Mercedes GLE63 AMG. When I originally purchased it as at one year old with low miles, I added a Mercedes extended warranty. When that expired, I purchased a third party extended warranty (Zurich). When that expired, I drove for another year and had some repairs done at independant local shop on my dime (but at least saved over what dealership would have charged.)
It appears that with Lucid, I would have none of these options once the basic warranty has expired. Of particularly worrying is that currently here in Houston, my vehicle would probably be stuck in service for 3+ weeks waiting for repairs. Not sure if loaners would be available for post warranty repairs.

So haven’t gone through everything above, I would still say purchasing an extended warranty is smart. Two things contribute to this. When I called my Warranty company, they set my mind at ease that it would be no problem to get reimbursed for the repairs. And they said they would do that quickly and expedite the check to me because of my situation. They also did not really ask for specific failures just what was failing and what the service department was telling me. My particular warranty was an exclusionary policy so there’s only a few things that it wouldn’t pay for. He did ask me if the failure had anything to do with the SRS control module because he said this is the only module that Jm A or Fidelity warranty services would not cover so aside from having to put a large amount on a credit card and wait 30 days for the payment. The second part is, I think the more people that push Lucid to either offer an extended warranty, or at least allow their service centers to accept extended warranties. The more likely it will be in the future that the service centers will allow a direct payment model. And as the 2022‘s start to come out out of Warranty, I can assume that my experience will not be the only one and everyone will communicate to Lucid what they would like. Ultimately it destroys resale value for the brand by not allowing extended warranties or offering an extended warranty on their product. It basically is saying we’re walking away from older cars. Which is never a good look for resale value.
That sucks. I plan on getting XCare when my 48 month warranty ends in December, I wonder if anyone here has purchased XCare for their Lucid and has any experience similar to yours.

I never trust a extended warranty company that spends more on advertising than on claims... just my .02....

Sunce you are the expert on extended warranty coverage, how much would an extended warranty cost for my 2022 AGT?
Here is my warranty... As you can see I paid $4100.00 for it... While I cannot offer you the same price. I would be willing to do $350.00 over cost. So you would be 4450.00 tax included. I just noticed that the version here does not include the years of coverage... mine is a 6 year from now up to 120000 miles.

yes but IMHO.... xcare which is Endurance.... Spends more on advertising than they do on claims..... I know you have good luck with them.... But when I sold them before I had more complaints than praise. Its just like YOU KNOW which socks are good ones... and only wear the best Nike socks on the planet....
