So, the hands free DDPro was working great up until about 4 days ago when the steering wheel icon stopped showing up entirely. I had this happen once before about 6 months ago and it turned out the steering wheel needed to be replaced (bad capacitive sensor). I just called customer service and the rep told me he thinks it's actually a software issue (apparently not his first call regarding this--though I haven't seen anyone mention it on here). He told me there's an update coming "in the next few days" (3.6.2) which he says will fix this issue. I'm curious to know everyone's thoughts. Anyone else have this issue? Are they delaying a needed hardware repair/steering wheel swap or do we truly think there's an imminent software update to address this?

wait what
My thoughts exactly... but he seemed fairly knowlegable.

Also, he said that the 3.6.2 update will also come with a keyfob firmware update too. I asked if I could be placed at the front of the line to receive the update to fix my issue. He said he'd see what he could do. 🤷‍♂️

I received the same information from a Lucid customer care representative today when I called about issues with my 3.6 software and Hands-Free Driving Assist. My Hands-Free feature has been inconsistent, at best, since I installed 3.6 last Friday - it breaks, briefly fixes itself, then breaks again, and is currently not working.

Customer care mentioned another over-the-air update is expected in a couple of days, which ‘he thinks’ should resolve my issue. I too asked if I my VIN # could be moved to the front of the line… LOL.

I'm wondering if we had the same rep... as he described another owner with problems that were intermittent and described what you're describing. Perhaps @marqie can confirm or refute what this rep has told us?

My DD Premium (hands on) just popped up unavailable out of nowhere today on the freeway. It remained unavailable for about an hour and then just randomly came back on.

I ran across the other thread where people are having issues with the facial recognition and that's causing the DD issues...I haven't had any facial recognition issues and I've been getting the usual reminders to keep my eyes on the road...so I don't think my issue is related to that.

Mine DDPro Premium as well was great, until today when it started to ping-pong all over the place on I-5 on a trip in Oregon. Even was showing the occasional ghost vehicle around me.

When I stopped to charge at an Mercedes-Benz site near Ashland, I cleaned all the sensors that I could find of future Starship Troopers recruits and it was better behaved so I could use it again.

I wonder if I'll just skip 3.6.0 altogether since I never got it.

According to the previous sequencing for Lucid gravity software upgrades the answer to that is a big fat NO. The software be loaded sequentially and you can not skip a version.

I appear to be stuck on 3.5.7 (which I got right after it started rolling out)

looking forward to @marqie confirm the 3.6.2 ;)
Maybe marqie can then post like last time the release notes etc. and maybe collect VINs again :D So guys be prepared and ready to shoot your VIN :D

If there's a fix release coming this soon I wonder if they paused the 3.6.0 update push. Has anyone gotten the update recently?

Should I just call customer service back and tell them I need a service appointment for the missing DD function (which I suspect *will* require replacing the steering wheel again)? Or should I wait for this promised update (with no idea of the rollout schedule) with hopes that it's going to fix the issue?

By the time you are likely to get in for service, the update will be out and you'll know for sure. So you can make the appointment if you can and cancel if the update. fixes it. That way you are covered either way.

Probably a wise idea. I'm not sure how long the wait is for a service appointment.

Most places I hear is taking a few weeks at least. So hoping Lucid announces and does something very soon about expanding service….
