Emergency Stop

Anyone know how the passenger can initiate an emergency stop in the Gravity if the driver becomes incapacitated? A Google search says press and hold the (P) button on the pilot panel. Is that correct? I can't find it in the owner's manual.

We do a lot of road trips. I do most of the driving but my partner likes to drive a few legs. He's had a few heart issues and has a pacemaker/ICD. Even though he's medically cleared to drive, I'd feel better knowing there's a way I can stop the car from the passenger seat in that 1000:1 chance something happens (since the center console prevents me from reaching the brake pedal).

This would be terrifying and I sincerely hope you will never be in that situation.

Google is wrong, and if it was AI, it’s hallucinating. Instead, press and hold the Park button on the drive selector stock. According to the gravity manual (under Driving -> Brakes):

Emergency Use​

Note that the Gravity will decelerate with regenerative braking and automatically stop (if in hold mode) if you or the driver can manage to move the leg/feet off of the accelerator pedal.

Ah, thanks for finding that. I missed it when scanning thru the manual.

I think I just misinterpreted what Google said. It said to press and hold (P) Park, but it didn't say which one. I assumed it meant the one on the pilot panel, but apparently it meant the one on the gear stalk.

I've never heard the term "service brakes". I guess that's just the regular friction brakes?

Yes. Service brakes are the normal friction brakes.
