Air Touring, BMW M440i
I have only owned my 2026 Air Touring for less than a month and so far am thrilled with the car. One thing I'm curious about is the "can't see your eyes" camera warning. I would imagine when this light is on it will not be possible to utilize HFDA, is that correct? It seems that anytime I wear my sunglasses, within a few minutes the warning light is illuminated. It's sunny most days here in TX, so a bit frustrating. Anything I can do to stop the warning/disabling of HFDA?

Add another facial recognition under your driver profile wearing your sunglasses.

You may need to adjust your steering wheel downwards a bit as well. The eye camera is in the black rectangle under the driver's display, and is easily blocked by the steering column.

Bmair, I have the same issue with just my regular glasses; in my case, I think it’s caused by reflection from the glasses. Thanks AirDoll for the suggestion!

I have set up an alternate appearance with my sunglasses on and adjusted the steering wheel to give the camera a clear view of my face. As soon as I put on my sunglasses I get a “Pay Attention” alert, quickly followed by “Take Control”. If I take off the sunglasses everything works as it should. This problem seems to have got much worse with Software 2.9.0. Frustrating.

Amazing conclusion that "something is wrong". OP says he has issue, gets suggestion, says that fixed it and it "works perfectly now". One person, with one post who joined today says it does not work for him, therefore it's a 2.9 problem? Bash for the purpose of bashing as usual.

Fwiw my 2025 AT recognizes me fine with sunglasses. I did, as suggested long ago, set up a separate face profile with sunglasses (Maui Jim), adjusted wheel down a bit and it's never been an issue since.

For those with a problem, one could try redoing the sunglasses profile to see if it was a sub-optimal capture. I also would not be surprised if super glossy sunglasses were possibly problematic, but I don't have any facts to know that is a potential issue or not, just supposition.

Have you tried adjusting your steering wheel downward a bit?

That post was from April. There have been a lot of posts on here and elsewhere since 2.9 released (in June), where DreamDrive needed reset because it wasn't reading correctly, along with some other issues about face recognition being re-enabled on startup. A relearn is required for 3.6 on the Gravity too and is working fine, but with the Air, some of them are not. They have pushed out another update with the same version to some of us, and not to others, to correct some bugs. This applies only to Air.

If you had searched, you would know this.

I generally, read *every* single post on this forum, so I don't need to search nor need your condescending attitude, I'm well aware of the issues some are seeing and that many are not. The response, again, to someone who joined today and a total of one post (which to be fair *might* be true) was it's a problem with 2.9. I have the same car and version as the reported issue, and don't have that problem, at all. Does that mean he does not? Nope. Which is why I suggested redoing the sunglasses profile, a useful comment, not some guess that it's a universal 2.9 issue. But that's what you do, draw (often dubious) conclusions, bash at every opportunity, and jump and on the bandwagon of anyone having issues and clapping along (often saying things that are not true or marginal conclusions at best).

Have you had incredibly bad issues? Yep, but post bombing the forum *constantly* with negativity is beyond tiresome at this point. What's the point? Your have stated in posts "I hate Lucid" and "Lucid is a terrible company" and yet continue to post incessantly. If you hate them so much why TF are you here? My guess is even after you get you buyback - which can't happen too soon - you will still post trash here (I hope I'm wrong but based on the constant never ending negativity I'd be surprised because it certainty appears as a personal vendetta).

Others have posted that they don't come here as much due to the constant negativity. While a lot of that negativity is absolutely true and deserved, posting numerous times per day saying the same thing is grating. I'm really starting to understand their position.

Great comeback, and a pretty typical useless post.
