There are a lot of threads with various experiences with the front suspension clunk.
My car went to Seattle service twice and they tigthtened everything and couldn't figure it out.
Rocklin got the car, they confirmed suspension is correct-however- the sound was not from suspension, even though it sounded like it.
In my car, and I suspect a few others where suspension is tight but still makes noise, it was the HV Battery tray. It had undertorqued bolts from the factory, and those were causing the battery tray to clunk against the frame in the front left, which SOUNDED like suspension, but wasn't.
For short and future googlers:
Symptom: loud clunk, front left, up bumps on right hand turn, sounds like a loose strut tower bolt
Fix attempt 1: check suspension
Fix attempt 2: tighten suspention under load
Fix attempt 3: shorter bolts on sway bar endlinks
If those dont work: have service check the torque on the HV battery tray bolts.
Now it is nice and quiet.
