In 50 years of driving I have never seen a tire fail like this. Maybe on tires that have aged out but not on tires less than 3 years old. Wife was driving to lunch with her family and I noticed a tire notification on my phone. With a big change in temp like we just had here in Pa, it didn’t surprise me but I checked the error on my phone. I noticed the pressure was half of the other and called her immediately where she pulled into a gas station to add air. When she got to the compressor a young man helped her out and noticed air leaking out the side wall. There were no visible damage to the tire just an unusual looking separation which to me looked like an age crack or dry rot. Car is a 2024 with 15K on it. Take a look at the photo and tell me what you see. The scuffs on the treads I think were just caused by the drop in pressure and driving into the garage area. She said she didn’t hit anything or even a hit a pothole this time.
