Lucid Air Touring (soon)
Hi everyone, first post here.
I’m looking for some insight on the timing for finding and ordering a 2025 Air Touring, either in stock or inbound.
I’m currently leasing a 2023 Audi eTron GT with three payments left, so I’m starting to weigh my next move. My Audi dealer is pushing hard for me to lease a 2025 eTron S-GT. I do love my current car, and the new version has some nice upgrades, but it’s also noticeably more expensive than my '23. Even with a 10% Audi discount (through a friend), the lease payment is still coming out $100–$150/month higher than a nearly-loaded Air Touring.

I drove a Touring last week and loved it. The tech is on another level compared to the Audi. I also think the Lucid looks great, though in my opinion the eTron GT still takes the edge in styling, it’s a beautiful car. That said, I think I’m ready for something new. I’ve owned a dozen BMW's and several Audi's. Lucid feels fresh and different, and I like that.

Anyway, the main reason I’m posting is about timing. The May incentives on the Air are strong, but it’s just a little too early for me to act. If I could find the Touring I want (ideally Cosmos Silver, with the right options) arriving in 4 weeks, I could probably make Late June/July 1 work.

My two big questions: How likely is it that a Cosmos Silver Touring will still be available or inbound in July? Can we reasonably expect the incentives (currently upwards of $20k off) to stick around or return in July/August? (What were last year's June-Aug incentives)?
I know it’s all a bit of a gamble, but I’d appreciate any thoughts or advice. I’m not totally against eating a payment or two if it means locking in the right spec at a good deal.

Thanks in advance!

I got the same car at the end of March when the deals were similar to now. Silver touring, Tahoe int, every option except massaging seats which I really wanted. I found it with my sales advisor at Lucid. It was at the Casa Grande manufacturing plant on March 16th and I had it delivered to me in Chicago on March 29th. So if you find the one you want they will move it quickly once you place the order.
As far as whether the incentives will be there after 5/31, nobody knows. I would guess there will be something, but they change frequently. My philosophy is if you like the car and like the deal, jump now. Even if it means you forgo one option.

The incentives have been pretty consistent the last couple months (I got mine in March with, more or less, the same discounts).

For me it took a couple weeks from the time I ordered the car to the day I took delivery. Lucid does not seem to be willing to guarantee discounts available at time of order will be available at time of delivery (even if you are taking delivery the first day of a new month).

My suggestion is to try and place the order earlier in the month so that you take delivery with a guarantee of the discounts.

As far as variety of specs in a given color, I cannot help. When I was shopping I was more interested in the specific interior color (Tahoe interior) and was willing to take a couple different exterior colors. (and was completely ambivalent about wheel size, shadow trim, or the upgraded sound system). I had a pretty easy time finding what I wanted in stock but from the sounds of it I was more flexible on options than you might be.

This month its different to previous months “Our commitment to you: Lucid current vehicle pricing locked on vehicles ordered by May 31*” as long as you order by end of the month the price is gonna stay unlike before you need to get delivery before end of month.

Yeah, I think the availability will be not as much of a concern as the builds with various specs roll through pretty consistently, great deals may change. I think it's now or wait another 6 months to see if rates come down and new incentives form.

This timing sucks, I really don't want to pay two leases until Aug 1st. I guess I will roll the dice for now. I looked back, June 2024 incentive was $17,250. July-Aug 2024 was $19k. If June stays in this ballpark, I'll feel pretty good about locking one in July 1st. Fingers crossed.

Hey there, on a slightly different vein, did you have any reliability issues, software glitches with your Audi?

Zero...It's been amazing. 20 months, 2 (minor) recalls. The range isn't great but fine for me (205-270) depending on the temps. I really love it, but ready for a change.

If you really want a great deal you can get my car when the lease is up in October:)

For you and other Touring shoppers, you probably know this but I want to point out that Air Touring has that goofy stipulation that massage can only be combined with the Purluxe Vegan. I went into this process loving Tahoe leather and exclaiming there is no way I will spend $95k and take fake leather. I lied; at the end of the day massaging seats were more important to me than leather. Also, be aware if you do choose Purluxe, you will not have the ambient lighting that comes with leather

I have a '22 Audi GT, and service was one of the reasons I am getting rid of it. It was a brand new model when I got it, so you expect some teething pains, but what I found is that the two dealers I used simply had no idea how to service the car. It took me 4 service calls over 12 months with the car being in the shop for 21 days to get my heater fixed (it wasn't broken--it was recalled by Audi. Then the dealer broke it and couldn't fix it). I had a different dealer do software updates that took a week to do, only to find they broke other things in the car. Awesome car, but the limited range, and service thing drove me to Lucid. From what I understand, the current GTs have substantial improvements over the year 1 models.

I ordered an AGT on March 23rd. I was told it would be delivered mid-late summer. On April 30th, Lucid released a whole bunch of new cars on their website. One of these cars matched all of my specs except one (glass roof vs aluminum roof), so I switched my order to that car. It was supposed to be available in about 4 weeks. Eventually, I learned that the car was scheduled to leave the factory in mid-June, which was about six weeks from the ordered date (rather than the four as originally promised). At this point, I am hoping to see the car by the end of June. I am a little worried about the current incentives carrying forward, but I feel Lucid will continue the current offers (the last thing Lucid wants is to have a drop off in sales). I hope this helps!

The Lucid Air is one of the best sport sedans ever made.....you will enjoy the car very much! It is so good I lost all interest in buying a used Ferrari!
