Android Auto Thursday

That sounds even more disheartening
Just realistic thinking IMO. I've been waiting for AA since it was coming soon in October 2022.

Does anyone know if this USB device (Ottocast for Android) works for AA in our Airs?

Here's the link to Amazon https://a.co/d/7g8HbGw

Doesn't that just allow wireless AA on cars that have wired-only AA?
I'm not sure what it is. They show plugging in a USB stick and then AA connects from your phone.

Just confirmed you are correct. This will not help us. Thanks

I just installed this and it works pretty good. Carlinkit

All I had to do was connect via USB to car and add device to Bluetooth. The Tbox device connect via Carplay and my Android runs AA.

I know others have tried/uses Tbox.

There are multiple dongles that work. Here's another one. Look up instructions posted earlier in this thread.

Happy Android Auto Thursday!!!!

how long it will take Lucid then to get Apple CarPlay 2 😄 ...2030 ?

Happy AAT and looking forward for ACP2

In fairness, literally no one has CarPlay 2 yet. That’s on Apple.

None of the promised manufacturers has shipped a single car with it. So, something is very wrong with how it’s being rolled out.

I rented a Nissan Altima yesterday for two days...used Android Auto after several years...and what a seamless experience ... I just wish for AA to come to Lucid Air this year....the lack of it is ridiculous..but I'm not saying anything that's not been said before...just getting really tired after being tired of no AA....puh leeze Google...let the damn thing loose...

I don't miss it in the Lucid as much as I thought I would. I have the Carlinkit set up for AA, but I only plug it in maybe 10% of the time. But I do really appreciate it in rental cars. It saves you from having spend the time to figure out a completely different UI in a car that you'll only be driving for a few days.

Android Auto is perfect for a rental car. Android Automotive with native Google Maps, voice Assistant (soon to be Gemini LLM) and an app store is perfect for a primary daily driver.

Happy Android Auto Thursday!!!!!!
