Prior to purchasing our AT, my wife and I thought about buying a Taycan. We started the build process only to gone down the rabbit hole of a dizzying list of a-la-cart options. By the time we finished with options we were 1) lost as to what option was what, 2) price was more than an AT and 3) EPA rated range was not much better than our MS 70D. We gave up on the Taycan and placed a deposit on an AT.

The reviewers were even occasionally added Model-S to comparison. I’m glad Dave Connor is now team-Lucid appreciating Air driving dynamic and defending UX20.

Highlights
Air - Efficiency, range, comfort
Taycan - Sporty look, prestige
Model-S - Infotainment, economics

Coming from Tesla mobile app, Dave is also impressed by Lucid mobile app. 😊

Same here.

I thought, "If I'm going to pay this much for a car, why not a Porsche?"

By the time I got what I wanted, I was thinking, "Yeah, that's too much."

Yes, to get lane centering, you have to add multiple components, it’s just a convoluted shopping trap. And $87k Taycan is basically barebones. I once saw a dealer showroom marked up 230k Taycan, I’m not really that impressed than compare to Lucid AGT, it still look analog sporty to me despite it is digital EV.

There's little question if the Air didn't exist, I would have ended up with a Taycan. Can't say I'm not happy things went the way they did.

Yeah, I put a deposit on the Taycan cross turismo in May 2021, then a Lucid in October 2021. got my AGT last August having never heard from Porsche about a build slot.

I think the Taycan cross turismo is one of the nicest looking cars out there!

I agree with the exhausting lists of options for porsche. It really is too much

Taycan range is understated. It's real world range is fact about 20% more than EPA vs lucid/tesla which is usually 10-20+% below EPA so I'd bet the ranges are actually quite simliar between AT and Taycan

Taycan is like driving a sports car - interior is snug vs spacious in Air

Taycan stated their range based on real world reflection of how sports car driver would accelerate and decelerate in zig-zag driving style. Air stated their range based on real world reflection of how bc 70 years would drive on Highway Assist.

Both cars emit different vibes. Taycan have fast and furious young gun feel with sporty look; Air feel classy and elegant but disguised with more power than it actually look and feel futuristic.

If Lucid Air didn’t exist, if would be either Model-S Plaid or EQS AMG end up with me. And I’m also very pleased with what I ended up with.

I am almost 78 and I resemble that remark.

If the Lucid Air didn’t exist, I would be still waiting….
