Lucid Air Grand Touring
I just updated my GT this morning and have been looking forward to setting up Car Play. The instructions say to look for the car play symbol in connections next to my iPhone name, but nothing shows up. Am I doing something wrong?

Also if you have never used Car Play, need to unpair your phone and repair it via bluetooth and it will pop up on the screen as per the directions sent with the update

Thanks - correct, I'm new to Car Play

I had to delete my phone and reinstall it for CarPlay to work. However, the CarPlay is not sized properly as it is larger than the screen so the apps are cut off.

I got the Car Play announcement email Thursday, the OTA Friday, and connected Car Play Friday afternoon effortlessly. Looks good, works well, but things I have noticed so far: messages supported, but not email (which is supported in my BMW). Also, starting Car Play disconnects WiFi in my phone. So I can’t play music that shows on my phone but is not downloaded to my phone. Is this because Lucid requires using its own Internet access?

Wireless CarPlay uses an ad hoc Wi-Fi connection so you’ll have to depend on cell service for internet access.

Yes. Figured out that the the Issues with the sizing is due to Apple.

disconnect your iphone from your car then reconnect; it should ask you to connect to Apple Play...

I think I know the answer to this, but I’m curious if there is a way to get the CarPlay display off the pilot panel and down to the center console tablet.

Nope. Not at the moment. Who knows if Lucid/Apple will allow in the future

Not complaining…happy to have the feature.

It’s a bad idea, from a user interface perspective. The lower screen is not meant to be a major source of information or interactivity while driving. It’s way too low and forces you to take your eyes much further off the road than the cockpit panels do.

The best uses for the Pilot panel are for quick adjustments, or for setting up infotainment or nav by the passenger, or before you start your trip. I turn mine off for the most part while driving.

I love the new update with Apple Play. I'm not an audiophile, but I really feel that music played on Apple Play sounds better than the Bluetooth music I was playing.

I have a video on YouTube that addresses music quality with CarPlay versus other sources.
