Okay, I leave. I didn't think too much about the influence that my statement makes. Neither did I want to hurt anyone's interest. I just wanted to express my thoughts. Nothing more than that. Hope you enjoy your Lucid!
Yeah, but Tesla is the pioneer. What was the environment back then? I've never heard a single person talking about EVs 10 years ago. Nowadays, manufacturers are spawning EVs like crazy. Do you think Lucid will have time to spare? Or will these competitors give Lucid a chance?
Tesla is run by Elon Musk who is a master social media influencer. Lucid is run by Peter Rawlinson who only knows efficiency but nothing else. Their only similarity is they both make EVs. That's it.
An analyst asked why so few cars being produced. Is it a demand or production limitation? I think Peter has implicitly confirmed it was a demand issue by answering it was not a production issue. I guess more cancellations come from Pure reservation holders since they are more cost conscious then...
I guess the real reason might be the 5 cycle test is so generous that gives them a large room for adjustments. Since the Touring is more expensive, they gave it a bit more EPA range to make it more attractive. Nothing more than that. In real world, neither of those cars can achieve their EPA ranges.
The possibility of a random variation to cause the range results to inline with the price differences is 1 out of 6 based on my math. I doubt it's a coincidence.
