It shouldn't, like you mentioned your phone takes over. At least this has been the case in every vehicle I've been in with CarPlay / Android Auto.

Now that I'm on version .24, the startup time is a huge improvement. However has anyone notice the heated Coffee/Tea cup icon on the startup pilot screen? See the attached, I've circled it in red. Wonder if our cup holders have heat option coming out in a firmware update 😁😁😁.
