Makes sense. I get it that everything should be focused on getting Gravity out the door by the end of April. But, if new hardware is needed so that Air customers can get into their cars, we expect Lucid to do the right thing and recall cars that have annoying (and probably dangerous) lockouts.
Your post makes it sound like the problem is with the fob on the Lucid Air. If so, how do you explain the fact that the problem happens when customers use their phone as a key. Same problem.
Lucid should make a very clear statement about what the problem is. We are not adding fuel to the fire...
I wonder if comments like this lead Lucid to think that this is not a serious problem. This is something that buyers find out about after they take delivery of the car. Can you imagine what this would do to sales if every potential customer was told, "Please be aware that for some people, the...
It's a real problem. Sadly, those who don't experience it think that those who do experience it are whiners. Some of them who don't agree with us are very influential on this forum. I worry that those attitudes take away from Lucid realizing how serious a problem this is.
Great work Zothor! Where is the setting you recommend? In the Pilot Panel (lower center touchscreen)? If so, can you provide a little more detail about what needs to be turned off?
Glad that you are trying to narrow down the issues. We've contacted local service. We've waited for answers from central customer support. If it's user error, no one has told us what we're doing wrong.
When we do get an answer, we get some strange ones. I hope no one gets in trouble, but...
What's the old saying? "One bad apple can spoil the barrel." Seems like there is an apple barrel problem. On the other hand, if so many others do not have this problem, it seems clear that this can be fixed.
I've read these forums carefully for weeks now since we are victims of frequent long lock-outs. Two things seem clear:
1.Not everyone has this problem. Those without the problem seem to think that those with the problem are "whiners." Or that we're doing something wrong.
2. There seem to be...
Can you tell us more about "passive unlock"? Is it in the car's settings? The app. On the other hand, some Lucid people finally allowed that "40 seconds is kind of normal."
You ask, "Am I alone here?" Answer: No. You are annoyed when it's 70 degrees. Imagine standing in the rain. Imagine 5 degree wind chill in Chicago. This is such a serious flaw with Lucid that it's hard to understand why they let it fester.
The Chinese electrics may eventually be allowed in our market. Chinese electrics will be powerful competitors if they are ever allowed to compete. See the NY Times article March 2, 2025. Lots of Chinese competitions and that article highlights Xiaomi.
Still bullish?
Some people think that we should be more tolerant of the car's faults and that our frustration only hurts Lucid. We note that we are shareholders only because we want to see Lucid succeed and because we are not here to troll them.
