He said they are NEARLY finished building all the cars for the studios. That means they haven't built 40 yet.

I really don't think anyone was being a nay sayer per se - it was simply a discussion of the reality of the situation at the time. That's exactly what a forum like this is for. Otherwise, there would have been like 8 posts about the Gravity in the last 3 months. 🤣
The thing is, Lucid really doesn't have to come clean. No one in the media is really paying a bit of attention to them. I haven't seen one article questioning why the Gravity is not being produced yet. And I'm not sure that's a good thing. Will anyone even notice when it does eventually start...
