Same as you on the order timeframe (day 1 GT, upgraded to GDE). The only time I've been offered an alternative was when I proactively reached out - unfortunately, none of those have worked out so far. I have been willing to accept a GT or GDE, but wanted heads-up, so I declined a few GT...

I would also add that getting 400 miles in an R1 is definitely the best-case scenario. Both of mine were Quads (R1T and R1S), so they weren't advertised at 400, but I think the general consensus is that 400 is a pipe dream that can only be achieved by an exact set of circumstances.

Same. I would have certainly enjoyed the extra power, but that was never really the draw from the beginning. The ability to get a GT sooner made me switch earlier this week as well.

This thread has become rather long, so I apologize for not being able to find this; didn't someone say that their build on the Lucid Motors page went from 'in production' with an assigned VIN back to 'Order Confirmed' for no apparent reason? I had/have a VIN assigned, and was told my Gravity...

Certainly, there is no guarantee, but I think the odds would be more favorable. Although you could find yourself in a situation where they begin producing white instead of green, and you are back to where you are today… just no guarantee.

Maybe…but that wouldn’t explain why I was able to get this GT that was spec’s exactly the same as my Dream Edition. Same color, wheel, seating, options. The only difference now is horsepower. I would have happily paid the extra for the dream, but have no real complaints dropping back to a GT

So, I've been a day-one reservation holder for a GT, switched to a DE two days after the announcement (as soon as I saw they decontented the GTs), and have been patiently, anxiously, waiting for updates from my advisor. Two weeks ago, he said I was assigned a factory production batch number...

I, for one, would have put money on the Rivian Quad. The Dream edition closes a pretty crazy gap (the R1 Quad launches hard!) to come back and win - super impressive! The only asterisk here is that the DE is a limited-production model, so the GT would likely have been the fairer race. Not sure...
