Can you switch your driving mode to ROLL and try it again? It's not through the steering, but are you sure it's not the brake hold activating prematurely? I also have a touring and have something similar, but I'm 100% sure my issue is due to the brake hold.

Yes, that would essentially give magsafe functionality! I personally choose not to use it because I have a leather case, and I don't think it works if you put it between the phone and the case. You need to put it on the exterior of the case, so it shows the ring.
